Commercial Legal Associate for Queue-it

We are looking for a commercially minded Legal Associate to join our Legal & Compliance Team at Queue-it. As our new Legal Associate, you will play a key role in supporting and improving our customer and partner contracting processes and ensure data protection compliance for customers and our internal organization. Ideally, you have solid experience negotiating and managing EU and international commercial contracts, and are excited about building fit-for-purpose data protection governance in a fast-paced international tech environment.

Role Purpose & Impact

The Commercial Legal Associate will become part of a small, driven Legal & Compliance team and will report directly to General Counsel, Johanne Vidkjær. The top priority is to support the contractual processes and together with our sales teams ensure that contracts are negotiated and managed professionally and efficiently. This role also offers an exciting opportunity to proactively shape and enhance our contracting and compliance processes even further.

This role offers close collaboration with Queue-it’s commercial teams in Denmark, North America, Australia, and Asia, and a legal profile with a commercial mindset will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and negotiating deviations from standard T&C’s and guidelines together with commercial teams.
  • Improving and building compliance frameworks relating to GDPR, international data protection standards, and information security.
  • Improving and building Legal & Compliance collaboration processes across business functions such as Sales, Finance, Information Security, Marketing and Product Development.
  • Preparing and conducting training for the Business in relevant Legal & Compliance processes and updates.

What Success looks like

Success in this role means supporting and enhancing an efficient contracting processes with legal and compliance advice and assistance in collaboration across business departments. You will be a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and contribute to Queue-it’s continued growth and operational excellence.

Your Experience and Skills

Candidates with a European Law Degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience with legal review and advise relating to European commercial contracts will be preferred for this position. You need to be able to communicate both orally and written in a high level of business legal English – Danish is not a requirement. It is important that you have a practical, commercial mindset and thrive in an international scale-up tech environment with many stakeholders across the business.

Great work experience can include:

  • Advising on global SaaS contracts in the SMB segment.
  • Reviewing and implementing GDPR compliance and processes.
  • Knowledge of other international privacy regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience advising on compliance with EU AI Act, NIS2 for Cloud Service Providers or other data protection regulations.
  • Implementation and working with contract databases.
  • IT and business risk management.
  • General experience with corporate governance and legal due diligence.
  • Experience from start-up/scale-up environments with a practical, fit-for-purpose approach.
  • Experience with regulatory tech platforms such as Openli, Drata, ComplyCloud, Risma, etc.

About the office(s)

In this role you will be working in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. This is Queue-it’s largest office and global headquarters. Our space is designed to support both collaboration and focus, with an open-plan layout, quiet rooms, and dedicated areas for deep work.
