About our start-up (“Alice”):

Alice makes personalized learning accessible for students and teachers using the latest in AI. More than 50,000 students across have already used Alice. 

In 2025 we joined Y Combinator’s W25 batch in San Francisco, and we raised almost $6m to scale. 

Though still small, our team punches above its weight – with backgrounds from Top Universities, McKinsey, PhDs in statistics, 10+ years of teaching, and even Denmark’s top high school GPA.

About you

• “Pilot, not passenger” – You’re intrinsically driven. There’s no playbook for building Alice.tech, so we define it together. That requires ownership – both literal and figurative.

• “Engineer with a capital E” – Startups thrive by shipping fast, but without structure we crash. We need people who master the balance: speed and solid engineering. That’s the heart of the role.

What you’ll do/work on

• Truly Full Stack – from cloud infrastructure to web and mobile apps, and everything in between

• Cross-functional collaboration with data scientists, designers, and business stakeholders

• Tech stack: TypeScript + Vue.js on the frontend; typed Python (mypy) + FastAPI on the backend

• Continuous improvement of our practices in contributions, testing, and deployment

Requirements (/The ideal candidate will have proven experience with)

• Mindset – fantastic work ethic and high ambition

• Full-stack web and mobile development with major frameworks

• Relational databases – design and optimization

• Cloud experience – AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Testing – writing thorough, reliable tests

• Languages – strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript

• Experience – 8+ years of professional software development

• Education – MSc in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)

It’s a plus if you have experience with

• Frontend frameworks – Vue.js

• AI/LLMs – building and scaling pipelines around large language models

• DevOps – CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure management

• Security – applying best practices across the stack

• Big data engineering – e.g. Spark, MapReduce
