At Interhuman AI, we’re building the social intelligence layer for AI. Our mission is to enable machines to understand how humans actually behave – not just what we say. We’re pioneering a new class of multimodal AI that reads facial expressions, voice tone, and body language to interpret social signals, delivering AI interactions that feel truly adaptive and emotionally aware.
Today, we’re bringing this to life with products that transform soft-skill training. We help people practice real-world conversations with an AI that responds to their tone and non-verbal cues. Our first customers include leading training platforms and forward-thinking companies who believe that emotional intelligence should be part of the AI revolution, not left out.
We’re a small but ambitious team (backed by top investors) with a working prototype, early paying customers, and a vision to become essential infrastructure in the future of conversational AI. We value curiosity, high standards, and collaboration – and we also believe in keeping things fun and supportive (no egos, just good vibes).
We’re looking for someone at the intersection of developer and storyteller – a person who can inspire and empower developers while representing their needs internally. As our first Developer Relations (DevRel) hire, you will own and grow our developer community and experience from the ground up. If you’re excited about being the bridge between a breakthrough AI product and the developers who will bring it to life, this is your moment to shine.
In this role, you will wear multiple hats (community builder, educator, advocate) to make our social intelligence API feel “like magic” for developers building the next generation of conversational AI, EdTech, and training applications. You’ll have high impact and autonomy to shape how developers discover, understand, and succeed with our technology.
Define and lead DevRel strategy: Develop our plan for engaging and growing a developer ecosystem – from positioning (how we speak to developers) to initiatives (docs, events, support channels) and everything in between. You’ll work directly with founders to set goals and will be trusted to experiment with new ideas.
Build top-notch documentation & content: Write and maintain clear developer docs and API guides that make it easy to get started. Create tutorials, sample apps, and possibly video or blog content that actually helps developers (no fluff). Your content will show developers how to integrate our AI into their projects and spark ideas for what’s possible.
Create demos and “wow” examples: Build example applications or mini-projects that demonstrate the power of our API (e.g. a sample app that reacts to user emotions in real-time). These demos will be showcased in our developer portal, GitHub, and at events to inspire and educate our community.
Nurture and engage our developer community: Be an active presence where our developers are – whether that’s our Discord server, GitHub discussions, Stack Overflow, Twitter, or other forums. Answer questions, share tips, and foster a welcoming, inclusive community. Over time, you’ll identify and mentor community champions.
Developer support & advocacy: Work closely with our early adopters and SDK integration partners. Help them troubleshoot issues, gather their feedback, and champion their needs. You’ll essentially be the voice of the developer internally – translating feedback into actionable insights for our product and engineering teams. (If a feature is confusing or an API endpoint is missing, you’ll make sure we know!)
“Build in public” & open source: Contribute to our open-source repositories and encourage external contributions. Share your journey and learnings in public where appropriate (e.g. write about a challenge you solved with our API). This helps build trust and transparency with developers.
Represent Interhuman AI externally: Be our developer evangelist at virtual and (eventually) in-person events. This could mean giving a talk at a meetup or conference, running a webinar, or participating in online panel discussions about AI/developer tools. You don’t need to be a keynote speaker from day one, just excited to share and engage. We’ll support you with opportunities to raise awareness of our platform.
Shape the end-to-end developer journey: Continuously improve the experience developers have, from the moment they hear about us to their first successful integration. You’ll refine onboarding flows, make sure our error messages or API docs are developer-friendly, and work with our UX/UI team on developer-facing interfaces. Essentially, you’re ensuring that using our API is intuitive, pleasant, and fast for devs.
Create success stories: When developers build cool things with our tech, help tell their story. This might involve writing up case studies or blog highlights about how a developer used our API in a novel way. It not only recognizes our community’s achievements but also shows others the possibilities (and gives those developers some spotlight love!).
Note: You won’t be doing all of this alone forever. As we grow, you’ll help shape the DevRel team (e.g. bringing in additional advocates, technical writers, etc.). In the early days, you’ll prioritize the most critical needs first – and we’ll work together to focus your efforts where they matter most.
You might be a great fit for this role if you (meet some or all) of the following:
Developer-first mindset: You love building things for developers and with developers in mind. You have a knack for taking something complex and making it approachable and exciting for a developer audience.
Experience in DevRel or similar fields: You have prior experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or developer-focused marketing/education. Alternatively, you might have been a technical founder or early-stage engineer who naturally took on the role of engaging a developer community for your product. You understand the rhythms of developer communities and the fundamentals of what makes developers adopt (or abandon) a tool.
Community building: You’ve been involved in building or growing a developer community before. Maybe you moderated a popular forum, managed a Discord/Slack group, organized meetups, or maintained an open-source project with contributors. You know how to engage developers and foster a sense of community.
Solid coding skills: You don’t need to be a software architect, but you do need to code well enough to build functional demos, sample integrations, and debug basic issues. Ideally, you have experience with modern web or AI programming – for example, building apps in JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Next.js) or Python or other common stacks.
Public presence & interpersonal skills: You’re comfortable being an advocate and “face” of a product in developer circles. This doesn’t mean you’re an extrovert 24/7 – just that you enjoy interacting with people. You’re happy to help someone out on a forum, jump on a call to guide a partner, or speak on a podcast about what we’re doing. Likewise, you work well with internal teams – from engineers to product managers – and can collaborate to get things done.
Empathy and user-focus: You care deeply about the experience of developers. You’re always thinking from the perspective of a developer-user: Is this API method confusing? What tutorial would help here? What pain points might they have integrating this? This empathy drives you to continually improve our documentation, support, and product.
Entrepreneurial ownership: Since you’ll be our first DevRel, we’re looking for someone who takes initiative and can thrive in a blank-canvas environment. You’re excited to own the developer relations domain – and while that’s a big responsibility, it also means you get to shape the strategy. You’re the kind of person who, when you see something that could be better, you take it on and make it happen. And importantly, you’re adaptable: in a startup, you know priorities can evolve, and you’re willing to adjust course based on where you see the most impact.
Please note: We don’t expect you to have done every single thing listed above on day one. If you have some of these experiences and skills, and you’re eager to learn the rest, we encourage you to apply.
Launched Dev Tools/Docs: Maybe you helped launch an API or SDK, set up a developer portal, or ran an onboarding program for developers. Familiarity with the process of rolling out dev tooling is a big plus.
AI/ML or Conversational AI experience: You have worked with machine learning, AI APIs, or conversational platforms (voice/text bots). Understanding this domain means you can relate deeply to our product’s potential (and challenges).
Content creator or educator: You’ve hosted hackathons, built starter kits, written technical blogs, or even maintained a YouTube channel where you teach coding. Any experience creating content that engages developers is wonderful.
Open-source contributor: Active in open-source projects? That’s great – it shows you understand developer communities and collaboration.
Obsessed with good DX: You get genuinely excited when you see beautiful documentation or a smooth onboarding flow for a product. Perhaps you have strong opinions on what makes a great developer experience. We love that kind of energy!
High-impact, early team role: You’ll be joining at a pivotal early stage, where your work isn’t just “part of the process” – it defines the process. As our first DevRel, you will lay the foundation for how developers discover, love, and adopt our technology. The strategies and community you build could set the course for years to come. If you’ve ever wanted to own a function and shape it from scratch, this is it. (And as we grow, you could grow into a larger leadership role, like heading a DevRel team.)
Cutting-edge technology & mission: This isn’t just another developer tool – it’s a chance to bring human emotional understanding into the world of AI. You’ll get to play with and evangelize technology that is truly new and groundbreaking. It’s fun (who doesn’t find reading facial expressions with code cool?) and meaningful (helping improve how people train and interact). If you’re passionate about AI or human-computer interaction, you’ll be in your element.
Competitive salary & equity: We offer a competitive salary for our stage, and meaningful stock options so you have ownership in the company’s success. We want you to share in the upside of what we’re building.
Remote-friendly culture: Work from our HQ in Copenhagen or remotely. We care about output, not clock-watching. We have team members in multiple countries and embrace async collaboration. (We do prefer a few hours of overlap with CET timezone for real-time sync when needed.)
Flexible and trusting work environment: We believe great work happens when people are given autonomy and trust. We limit pointless meetings and bureaucracy – your time is important. Whether you need to dive into writing mode or travel to a conference, you manage your schedule. Our team is small and everyone wears multiple hats, but we also respect boundaries (we don’t expect you online 24/7 just because we’re distributed).
Personal growth and learning: You’ll have opportunities to broaden your skills. Want to attend a DevRel conference or take a course? We’ll support it. You’ll also be working closely with experts in AI research and engineering – a great chance to deepen your knowledge in the AI domain. We encourage a culture of continuous learning (we’re all learning, given how fast AI moves!).
Supportive team with good vibes: We’re proud of the culture we’re building. “High standards and good vibes” really sums it up: we push ourselves to do great work, but we also keep the environment supportive, inclusive, and fun. We celebrate each other’s wins. We openly discuss failures as lessons. Also, we’re serious about diversity – different perspectives make us stronger, so we welcome people of all backgrounds.
Mission-driven and ethically mindful: We care about the impact of our technology. Building AI that understands humans comes with responsibility. As part of our team, you’ll contribute to discussions on ethics and privacy in AI. If working on AI for good (improving emotional intelligence, communication, etc.) matters to you, you’ll find like-minded colleagues here.
No formal cover letter needed. We’d love to get to know you through a brief note and examples of your work:
Introduce yourself: A few lines on what excites you about this role and our mission at Interhuman AI. Why do you think this opportunity and technology speak to you?
Show us something you’re proud of: It could be a link to a demo you built, an article or tutorial you wrote, a developer community you moderated, a talk you gave – whatever showcases your skills in action.
Anything else: Feel free to share anything about how you work, what you value in a team, or your experience that isn’t obvious from a CV. What unique perspective would you bring to this role?
