Plinto who?

We are looking for our first colleagues to join Plinto, an early-stage startup in Copenhagen building an agentic AI platform for financial controlling in the real estate industry.

Real estate companies across the world are struggling to understand and manage operational expenses. They live in a world of imperfect data, unstructured legal and financial documents and are often understaffed. Plinto combines bleeding edge AI technology with deep industry expertise to deliver high quality financial controlling in minutes, providing unparalleled financial oversight and helping property owners understand how and why money is spent.

Co-founders Jakob Nielsen (CEO) and Sebastian Rehnby (CTPO) have worked together for 10+ years in Copenhagen startups (Peakon, Podio) and large enterprises (Workday).

As someone who would be joining our team, you value:

• Innovation: You are excited about new technologies, and you see the tremendous potential in AI, beyond chatbots, to solve real-world problems.

• Learning: You love to learn new things, and to experiment with technology. You have already incorporated AI-tools (Claude Code, Cursor etc) in your daily development workflows.

• Full ownership: Even though you have deeper knowledge in some disciplines (frontend, backend etc), you like to work across the entire technology stack and own features from early prototyping through implementation, deployment and operation.

• User experience: You care deeply about usability and the perceived visual and functional quality of the software you make.

Your experience

Our ideal candidate has experience with most or all of the following:

• 3+ years of experience with React in production applications

• Some experience with Node.js (Express, NestJS, or similar)

• Experience developing, maintaining and operating complex web applications in a production environment

• Good understanding and some experience using state-of-the-art AI foundation models in code

• Strong understanding and experience working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)

• Strong understanding and experience with test driven development

What you’ll do

We don’t have any product managers, so we own the roadmap and prioritise together. Most days you will focus on:

• Implementing new functionality: Plinto is an early stage product and our immediate focus is to solve customer problems by creating the best possible system. So the primary part of your role will be the design, implement and ship new features!

• Building up core infrastructure: A lot of product and technology infrastructure is yet to be built for Plinto. You will help establish and implement best practices in both application and system architecture.

• Review feedback and collaboration: As a small team, feedback and discussion is essential to make progress - you enjoy the process of working together to solve a problems with the best possible outcome.

• Product development: As an early team member, you will have significant impact on feature design and roadmap.

• Understanding the business: Staying close to the business conversations to help prioritise our work is key.

• Becoming an AI expert: As you will co-own an application with core features powered by modern AI technology, you will prioritise being a domain expert on methodologies and best practices to get the most out of AI models.

Our stack

Plinto is built on Node.js and React, with all code written in TypeScript. We use PostgreSQL, Redis and S3 for data storage. Our primary hosting provider is Amazon AWS. For AI, we use a mix of state-of-the-art models from OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and Mistral. We believe in a rigorous automated testing and continuous deployment.
