VhAT is looking for a Senior Python Developer located in CPH

Salary Competitive

Join the team and help shape the next chapter of VhAT's growth.

We've built our VAT compliance platform, tested it thoroughly, and we're now entering real production with our first customers. We have strong ambitions to expand to other countries. Now we're looking for a senior developer to join our core team — not just to build with us, but to help drive technical excellence as we grow.

VhAT we're building

VhAT makes VAT compliance effortless for companies and the accounting firms that serve them, using OCR, LLMs and a modern Azure cloud stack. We're the digital hero that turns deadlines and spreadsheet nightmares into "wow, that was easy" moments. Think of it as liberating businesses from one of the boring parts of running a business – dealing with VAT — so they can focus on what actually matters.

VhAT we need

Must-haves:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional development experience – working in an agile manner with a product focus

  • Experience in building ERP-integrations and third-party APIs in Python (preferably ERP-systems like E-conomic, Business Central, etc.) using CRUD and building with high throughput in mind (i.e., using throttling, batching and real-time techniques)

  • Strong backend focus in Python for big-data building APIs deployed on cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and relational/non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB and PostgreSQL). CI/CD with GitHub Actions with a focus on type checking, validation and robustness

  • Production software experience – you've been part of building, testing and operating a production application in Python (SaaS, web platforms, or similar)

  • Capable of working closely with full-stack developers to ensure features are well integrated and are efficiently shipped to production

  • Work from Hellerup office 4 days a week – collaboration is key to our culture.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Prior software development work experience in any of the following sectors: FinTech, LegalTech, financial compliance, ERP transformations or accounting software

  • Experience with full-stack development processes for compute intensive applications:

    • knowledge of Frontend development tools such as NextJS;

    • server-side development using NestJS;

    • experience with big data and building computationally efficient functions to reduce runtime in Python;

    • ability to understand the impact of the code you write across the wider application and effects on infrastructure

  • Self-driven and capable of planning your own development steps utilizing tools such as Monday.com, JIRA, Notion, etc.

  • Experience in documenting your work as you build (using OpenAPI, Word, Draw.io, etc.,)

  • An understanding of best practices for security (e.g., use of JWT, pydantic, SQL injection safeguards, dependency management, safe storage of secrets, authentication requirements, anti-DDOS measures, etc.)

  • Experience in a data-oriented role e.g. using pandas, ML libraries, vector techniques, LLM APIs

VhAT we expect from you

This is about mindset as much as technical skills:

  • Team player – you celebrate team wins over personal recognition

  • Collaborative spirit – you thrive in flat hierarchies where the best ideas win

  • Collective code ownership – you're comfortable working in any part of the codebase

  • Fast-moving attitude – you like shipping quickly and iterating based on end-user feedback

  • Ambitious with a willingness to learn

VhAT’s in it for you

  • Help shape our technical direction as we scale domestically and internationally

  • Potential to grow into leadership responsibilities as we expand our team

  • Work with cutting-edge AI tools and modern cloud architecture

  • Competitive salary depending on experience

  • Modern development environment with budget for experimentation

  • Growth opportunities – plenty of room to evolve your role as we expand

How we work

We're small and focused – and we like it that way. It means we make fast decisions, ship quickly, and talk to our users every week. We're laser-focused on two KPIs: great experiences for our users and automating something boring and time-consuming.

You'll work closely with our existing development team of 4-5 developers in a collaborative environment where everyone's input matters.

The details

  • Based in Hellerup – four days on-site required, one day flexible

  • Start date: The sooner the better!

  • Please note: We do not offer relocation assistance or services

  • We're well-funded and building for long-term impact

  • Lunch, snacks, great coffee, and a humble, high-drive team

Let's talk

Curious? Interested? Ready to automate some seriously boring stuff while helping us grow?

Send a short note and tell us a bit about yourself, what you care about – and what you'd love to build with us.
