Team management, technical delivery, and engineering strategy
You will guide and develop a team of approximately six engineers, focusing on their growth through dedicated mentorship, consistent feedback, and clear goal-setting aligned with our engineering career framework. A key aspect of your role will be fostering a highly collaborative, communicative, and trusting team culture where ownership is paramount.

Working from our Copenhagen office and reporting directly to our CTO, you will drive new and ongoing initiatives to enhance our platform's quality, scalability, and innovation. This involves formulating the engineering strategy for your team's domain and overseeing the engineering OKR process to ensure alignment and measurable progress. A strong emphasis will be placed on continuously striving to optimize and automate engineering processes, not only within your team but also contributing to improvements at the company level.

As an integral part of a cross-functional product team, you will take ownership of and drive the successful delivery of key initiatives and improvements. This includes managing and effectively facilitating core agile/sprint practices such as sprint planning, reviews, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Collaborating closely with Product and Design, you will be responsible for scoping and prioritizing initiatives, meticulously planning iterations, creating clear and comprehensive technical documentation, and establishing realistic deadlines.

A critical aspect of this role is ensuring timely delivery while thoughtfully balancing technical debt, business value, and available resources. Furthermore, you will uphold engineering excellence by validating code quality and monitoring system performance.
Finally, you will be responsible for identifying, effectively handling, and resolving incidents, ensuring that these experiences contribute to the broader learning and improvement of the engineering organization.

The ideal Senior Engineering Manager at Vivino is a highly motivated and experienced leader with a proven ability to build and empower engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You possess years of professional experience in a leadership role, directly managing direct reports across a range of tech stacks, coupled with several years of experience as a Software Engineer proficient in one or more technologies, including Go, Swift, Kotlin, Java, SQL, React, and Ruby on Rails. You have a strong passion for people management and team development, with a track record of fostering collaborative and communicative team cultures. As a successful candidate, you will also have proven stakeholder management experience across various business functions and familiarity with the OKR framework. Excellent spoken and written English is required.

Experience working on an e-commerce and/or subscription product, managing App Store and Google Play Store apps, and familiarity with AWS, CI/CD tools, and analytics tools like DataDog, Crashlytics, and Mixpanel are highly desirable.
