The role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Product and Development team. You’ll work fully hands-on, building and scaling software that impacts thousands of users every day. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers and engineers across teams to deliver high-quality solutions and help shape our technical direction.

Our team is curious by nature and thrives on solving complex problems. As a Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of projects, mentor others, and help raise the technical bar across Formalize. You enjoy sharing knowledge, giving and receiving honest feedback, and continuously improving how we work. This role starts at 62,000 DKK per month and can grow up to 72,000 DKK as you develop. You’ll be part of our structured career framework, which includes regular performance reviews. As you build skills, take on new responsibilities and progress in your role, your salary grows with you. Our framework makes development clear and transparent, so you always know what the next step looks like.

What you will do

• Build scalable, maintainable software grounded in domain-driven design principles
• Help shape and drive the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with team and company goals
• Influence design and architectural decisions that support long-term scalability and performance
• Take ownership of projects end-to-end, collaborating closely with product and design to deliver impactful solutions.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers, contributing to a culture of learning and continuous improvement

• PHP with Laravel
• Redis for caching
• Serverless infrastructure on AWS

What you bring

• Strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, system design, testing and common design patterns, with hands-on experience applying different approaches and understanding their trade-offs
• Broad knowledge of building software, prepared for rapid development and scalability
• Solid experience with at least one server-side language. We work with PHP and TypeScript, but what matters most is your ability to build great software and learn our stack.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework and complex state management. We use Angular, but great frontend fundamentals matter more than framework labels.
• Good testing practices and familiarity with frameworks such as Vitest or Pest
