First Step: No need for a boring cover letter - just upload your CV, and you’ll get a link to complete a short (10-15min) AI-powered interview by a tool called Fairec. You can do it right away or whenever it suits you best. We use this to reduce bias and give everyone a fair chance. As an AI company, we’re all about new tech - including in how we hire. After completing the AI interview, you’ll hear back from us with an update on your application. As a Full-Stack Developer, here at Ocean, you will…

• Backend Development: Design and implement robust, maintainable services using Python, Node.js, or Rust. Build APIs and tools that power our product and internal systems.

• Frontend Development: Help design the platform from end to end using Svelte 5.

• Data Engineering & System Design: Help us scale and improve our large, diverse dataset by working on the full lifecycle - from crawling and ingesting data to processing, storing, and querying it efficiently.

• Product Collaboration: Work closely with our product team & the two other development teams (backend & frontend) to translate ideas into reality. You’ll be involved end-to-end - from technical design and implementation to evaluating performance and suggesting improvements.

• Innovation & Autonomy: We give you the freedom to experiment. Whether you’re optimizing an existing pipeline or proposing a new UX for our platform, we’ll support your initiatives.

• Team Collaboration: Join a supportive, international team where knowledge sharing and mutual growth are the norm. You’ll have space to work independently, but never alone.

Your Tech Experience

Core Skills

These aren’t optional - they’re the bread and butter of the job.

• Experience with any frontend framework (Angular, Vue, React, Svelte).

• Proficient with Git.

• Strong experience with Python.

Foundations

You should be comfortable with these - they’re your launchpad.

• Solid Computer Science fundamentals.

• Experience with any modern database (SQL or NoSQL).

• Comfortable building and working with RESTful APIs.

• A creative and innovative mindset.

• Solid understanding of testing and building reliable systems.

Valuable Extras

Bonus points if you know this - it’ll give you an edge.

• Familiarity with FastAPI, SQL, Elasticsearch, or Redis.

• Experience with Svelte.

• Experience with gRPC and/or event-driven systems (RabbitMQ or similar).

• Experience with machine learning.

• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and CI/CD workflows.
