Have you ever moved into a new home without being able to see it beforehand or planned out your new apartment in Sims or other 3D software because floorplans weren’t enough? That feeling of uncertainty when you can’t take any measurements, visualise how furniture will fit, or even get a true sense of the space? If you're familiar with this challenge and want to help improve the experience for future property buyers and tenants, then this internship is for you!
Virkley helps property developers and real estate agencies sell newly built homes while they’re still under construction by turning standard 2D floorplans into immersive, hyper-realistic virtual showrooms. Our solution empowers property developers to present properties interactively, with daylight simulations, different furniture layouts, and measurement tools. This allows buyers to explore and understand their future homes more intuitively, reducing uncertainty and helping them make confident purchasing decisions. If you want to try our demo and get a glimpse of the future, you can try it here: https://virkley.com/real-estate-demo/
Bringing realistic 3D models to the web is not as easy as it sounds. Higher quality means lower performance; therefore, finding the right balance between quality and performance would become your new super power. As a 3D Artist at Virkley, you will:
Create and optimize 3D models of interior and exterior elements that are both visually stunning and performance-friendly for web applications.
Apply realistic texturing, UV mapping, and materials to bring models to life.
Collaborate with our developers to ensure seamless integration of the 3D assets into the interactive environments.
Research and experiment with methods to improve visual quality while maintaining fast loading times.
Good understanding of 3D modelling software like Blender.
Familiarity with texturing techniques, UV mapping, and material creation.
Experience in optimizing 3D models for the web (using formats like glTF, optimizing polycount, texture sizes, etc.) would be a great plus.
A strong sense of aesthetics and attention to detail.
A portfolio showcasing some modelling and texturing work would be highly appreciated.
Don't worry if you don't have experience with all of the above. If you're passionate about 3D modelling and are excited to learn, we'd love to hear from you!
Duration: 3-6 months.
Unpaid, but depending on the quality of your work, it may become a paid position.
Flexible working hours and the chance to work remotely.
Weekly or bi-weekly team meet-ups at our office in Gammel Mont 3a, Copenhagen.
We’re going through applications on an ongoing basis.
