Can you help us activate the largest building dataset in Europe?
At Legacy, we're on a mission to decarbonize the built environment. We’re a purpose-driven green-tech scale-up building software for the financial and real estate sectors to drive climate action—at scale. Now we’re looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to help us build a world-class data infrastructure that empowers our customers to make smarter, greener investments in more than 240 million buildings across Europe.
We’re dealing with everything from building envelopes, construction years, and floor area to hourly consumption data, emissions, benchmarks, digital twins, and predictive models. It’s a lot of data. And we need someone like you to make it useful.
You’ll join our growing data & product team and help build our scalable data pipeline architecture in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your work will directly support:
Property-level and portfolio-wide carbon accounting
Benchmarking and risk analysis for investors
Recommendation and prediction models for renovations and upgrades
And the activation of digital twin models for 240M+ European buildings
Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines in GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub)
Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for large-scale building and consumption datasets
Integrate external data sources like energy meters, registries, geospatial APIs, and climate models
Ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage across a growing range of sources
Work with product, sustainability, and modeling teams to make data valuable and actionable
Automate and orchestrate workflows for real-time and batch processing
Push the limits of what’s possible with meter data, CO₂ emission factors, and ML-powered recommendations
You love building smart, scalable data systems
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer (bonus if in B2B SaaS, Energy management or proptech)
Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, etc.)
Fluent in SQL and a backend language
Experience with data modeling, APIs, and large-scale data orchestration tools
Interest or experience in emissions, sustainability, proptech, or infrastructure
A team player with strong communication skills – you know how to turn complex data into something people can use
A front-row seat to one of Europe’s most ambitious climate tech journeys
A collaborative, mission-driven team working on complex, real-world problems
A fast-moving startup environment with flat hierarchies and lots of autonomy
Competitive salary, pension, and equity package
Health insurance, flexible working hours, and remote-friendly setup
