We are on the lookout for a experienced Engineering Manager who can lead our Internal Tooling and Automations team. The Internal Tooling and Automations team is tasked with utilizing technology to provide easy to use, scalable, high performance and delightful tools so that our colleagues across the business can provide exceptional experiences to our customers and partners.

From utilizing low code tools, API integrations, web applications to generative AI and LLMs, the Internal Tooling and Automations team focus is to work with all departments at Monta to identify opportunities to make teams more efficient through the application of technology, It’s definitely an interesting place to be as the challenges evolve on a daily basis, so if you like learning new technologies and even more important new topics then this is the place for you.

We've just closed a massive 80M EUR Series B round, propelling us toward revolutionizing the EV charging experience. Our growth has soared, with nearly a million monthly charging sessions and 1,000 EV drivers joining us daily. We'll use this funding to enhance our software-only strategy, expand into new markets, and improve our product for an electrified future ⚡

Tools and technologies you’ll use

To keep it short, sweet and simple, you'll work with a fairly modern stack. Some of the things that we're working with are:

  • ReactJS / NodeJS
  • ForestAdmin
  • Kotlin (Java 17 and following the update schedule as closely as possible)
  • Github
  • Kubernetes
  • MySQL/Redis (Database)
  • Prometheus (monitoring system)
  • Grafana (Dashboard/Metrics)

Here are some things you’ll be working on:

We’re looking for someone who has a keen sense of both business outcomes and technology. Someone with a bias towards action. Shipping solutions quickly that help a team get better versus waiting until something is perfect. We think it’s an exciting opportunity and you’ll be working with some exceptional engineers and a great company to boot! The two key takeaways here are:

  • You’ll work closely with the leaders of departments all across Monta from marketing, legal, finance, operations and engineering

  • You will own building end to end tools in a variety of technologies that provide real business value to your stakeholders

  • Some days you will find a smart way to help operational teams go through their daily tasks - some days you will be working on tools that shape collaboration across teams at Monta

  • Apply the latest in AI/ML to various internal business processes
  • Build web applications, macros, and CLIs to streamline business operations
  • Build APIs to make all our tools talk to one another
  • Streamline revenue operations, content localization, legal reviews, transaction processing
  • Enable your coworkers to become superheroes with the application of technology

  • You have proven experience as an Engineering Manager
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders to align goals and expectations. Translate complex technical ideas and strategies to non-technical stakeholders within the company.
  • You think and act like an owner
  • You should have a strong passion for seeing people grow and shipping quality software at the same time.
  • Love planning and optimisation of teams and processes to maximise their efficiency.
  • Able to foster an environment of continuous innovation to keep the company at or near the latest and greatest while maintaining responsible software development practices
  • You should be a strong communicator, with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • You are always looking to hone your craft - some people may call you obsessive about what you do - you care deeply about solving problems
  • You have experienced growth stage at a startup, you want more of that
  • You have - through experience - learned that doing great things is very difficult and requires hard work
