Location: Copenhagen (BLOXHUB) / Hybrid
Employment: Full-time
Start date: As soon as possible
TL;DR: North ESG is looking for an ambitious and dedicated Full-Stack Software Engineer to help build the future of ESG accounting for SMEs – AI-powered, fast-moving, and built for business impact. You’ll own key parts of our backend, DevOps, and platform tooling ensuring speed, reliability, and scalability across our stack.
North ESG is the AI-powered ESG accounting platform for SMEs.
For most SMEs, ESG reporting is a complex and time-consuming burden. We believe the future of ESG should be about growth - not admin. Our mission is to free up time while strengthening the ESG profile of SMEs, so they can stay competitive, win more business, and meet rising ESG demands.
Our platform automates ESG reporting using AI – from data collection to emissions calculations and EU-aligned reports. It integrates with ERP systems and turns messy data into tailored, commercially viable ESG insights.
We’re a product-led startup founded by ITU and DTU alumni with consulting backgrounds. With strong traction in Denmark and growing demand, we’re now scaling fast.
You can be newly graduated or have several years of experience – mindset, curiosity, and ambition matter more than your CV
You care about shipping solid, scalable solutions – and you take pride in owning your work
You want to be part of an early-stage SaaS team solving real problems for real customers with proven product-market fit
You’re excited to grow with the company – including the opportunity to share in the venture’s success
You find inspiration in the intersection of sustainability, technology, and SMEs
You’re based in or near Copenhagen (or willing to relocate)
Own and develop key parts of our platform – backend, frontend, and infrastructure
Design scalable systems and help shape our architecture from the ground up
Collaborate with our CPO, CTO and AI team to build high-impact features
Improve our DevOps pipelines, developer experience, and system performance
Contribute to product direction with a focus on usability, speed and reliability
Champion quality: write maintainable code, review pull requests, and share knowledge
Be a thought partner – not just an executor
Frontend: React + Next.js
Backend: PostgreSQL (Supabase)
AI: RAG-LLM with embedded data in Pinecone
DevOps: CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Docker, Azure
Project management: GitHub Projects
Experience with these technologies is a plus – but not a requirement. What matters most is your willingness to learn and grow.
Responsibility from day one – you’ll help shape architecture, functionality, and product direction
A strong, close-knit team – we’re currently four people working closely with a focus on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a relaxed, informal atmosphere
Compensation & ownership – salary depending on experience, and we offer the opportunity for equity and co-ownership based on your profile and contribution
Flexibility – we offer remote work days but encourage in-person collaboration at our BLOXHUB office
A meaningful mission – we’re building a product that helps companies take climate action
Location – central Copenhagen, at BLOXHUB – Denmark’s leading community for sustainable construction and urban development
We’re a small, tight-knit, and social team that enjoys building things together – and having fun while doing it. We value collaboration, shared meals, team offsites, and good energy just as much as clean commits and scalable architecture. Here’s how we work:
Drivers, not passengers – we take initiative and make it happen
Ownership – we solve problems end-to-end
Team over ego – we collaborate to win together
Focused energy – we move fast and prioritize what matters
Candor over comfort – we give honest feedback to grow better
Details matter – because trust is built in the small things
Intro chat – a short conversation to align expectations and answer your questions
Technical interview – we walk through some real problems (yours or ours)
Team fit interview – you meet the team and we explore how we work together
Offer – if there’s a match, we move fast
Please submit your application in Danish or English
We treat all candidates equally - if you’re interested please apply through The Hub
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mathias Kristensen on LinkedIn or via the e-mail provided.
