We're looking for someone to lead UX, working closely with customers and the founding team to create a great product experience. We're in the early-stages of building our MVP, so this is a critical role with major impact.

We have just raised a pre-seed round, have a pipeline of potential customers, and are hiring early team members to join us on our mission to make sustainability impact more transparent and actionable.

Catalysta is a Copenhagen-based startup focused on developing a user-friendly platform to help organizations calculate their greenhouse gas emissions accurately and transparently.

We're building our platform based on insights from over 100 GHG accounting projects and 20,000+ hours of work.

Our market is growing rapidly, as large organizations across EU are faced with stricter reporting requirements from regulators, partners, and consumers. Catalysta is well-positioned to capture this demand via our novel data refinement solution, striking a best-in-class balance between accuracy and automation. 

Role Description

We are looking for a UX generalist to help us build an intuitive, beautiful platform.

We have loads of experience to draw from in terms of what our platform must be able to do, but we need your help to make the user journey intuitive and seamless.

You'll need to be a self-starter, as you will be the first hire within UX, UI, Design. and you'll set the stage for how we run those areas.

Effectively collecting input from customers and domain experts (we share office with the leading sustainability advisory firm in Denmark) will be key to designing the UX/platform well.

We like to work with hypotheses, quickly testing and iterating. Identifying user pains, translating that into possible solutions and effectively validating those, will be a core part of the job.

You will work closely with the founders and developers to prioritize product features and create designs that are easy for the developers to implement.

The core focus of the role is within UX, but we expect you to take the lead on matters related to design and UI in these early stages of the business, until we can add headcount in those areas.

With lots of things to do and an ambition to ship product quickly, we don't expect designs to be perfect - we would rather collect feedback and improve incrementally.

Who you are

You are a product designer with a knack for collecting honest user feedback. You are driven by hypotheses, and excel at quickly (in)validating them, collecting the necessary input yourself to draw conclusions.

You have likely designed web platforms before and aren't afraid to bring forward original or off-beat ideas.

We are a small team with few formal processes, so you will play an active part in driving ideas forward and setting the structure needed to bring the product vision to life, working with many internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for a person with wide range of skills related to UX, ideally incl. UI and design, to help create visual designs that enhance the platform's usability and aesthetics.

Finally, we hope to find someone who is excited about playing a critical part in building a great new platform from the very start.

Qualifications

• Design Thinking and Human Computer Interaction skills.

• User Research expertise.

• Experience in designing user journeys for a web platform.

• Visual Design proficiency.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Knowledge of sustainability and environmental issues is a plus.
