As a Senior Data Engineer/Lead at Monthio, you’ll drive the architecture, development, and optimization of our data infrastructure, powering our ability to deliver actionable insights and scalable solutions. In this senior-level role, you will shape and build data pipelines that support Monthio’s data-driven models and algorithms, enabling real-time assessments of wealth, income, and affordability. With an option to lead the data engineering team, you will work closely with data scientists and engineers, ensuring the efficient flow of data across the organization to achieve Monthio’s mission.
Architect and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and reliability.
Design and optimize data lakehouse solutions that support advanced business intelligence and machine learning models.
Collaborate with data scientists and cross-functional teams to transform data requirements into high-quality data engineering solutions.
Implement data quality checks and monitoring for accuracy, completeness, and reliability in analysis and model development.
Ensure data governance and compliance with industry standards and regulations for security, privacy, and data protection.
Optimize pipeline performance for scalability and efficiency, addressing factors like data volume, velocity, and variety.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the team by adopting the latest data engineering technologies and best practices.
Provide mentorship and technical leadership to other data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on big data technologies and cloud platforms like Azure.
Proficiency in PySpark, Python, SQL, and data modeling, with hands-on experience in designing and optimizing ETL processes.
Familiarity with DataBricks and other big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka, is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of data lakehouse concepts and data governance solutions such as unity catalog.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
Understanding of financial data or experience within the fintech industry is a plus.
Experience in leading or mentoring technical teams is beneficial, especially for candidates interested in a leadership role.
Danish isn't a requirement, we are an English speaking office (although some of us like to practice our newly-acquired Danish skills at the coffee machine :).
