Firstly who are we

We are Blend www.theblend.dk Blend is a mission-led start-up which believes business should always be a force for social good. Blend works with social enterprises who employ and uplift marginalized women from patriarchal villages in India to bring elegant products to the urban buyer in Nordics.

Our main product line is carpets, which are hand-made with natural materials such as wool, jute, silk and recycled PET. The carpets are made with the same superior weaving technique associated with Persian carpets but have simple and neutral designs which suit the Nordic design sensibility.

We launched in Q2 2024 and already have our products in boutique store in North of Copenhagen.

Once we establish market connects, Blend wants to connect designers from Denmark and other Nordic countries to production centers in these rural villages to blend the functional Nordic design with 5000 years old artisanal talent of India.

In future, Blend will also explore tech-based leasing options for its high-end home furnishing range. We believe that everyone should be able to upgrade home furnishings without giving-in to consumerism and impacting mother nature adversely.

By promoting handmade products by marginalized women Blend can impact 11 out of 17 UN SDG goals. So, if you are passionate about gender equality like us and want to experience diverse cultures read on ahead.


We are looking for talented profiles within marketing and sales.

As our new Market development and Sales Assistant, you will be directly working with our Founder. Your main responsibilities being centered around accelerating business expansion to both retail customers and business buyers.

 

So, what exactly will you be doing?

  • Advance our sales initiatives, engaging in proactive prospecting and email outreaches (one-to-one and at scale).

  • Build meaningful relationships, effectively conducting cold calls and building a robust pipeline of relevant prospects.

  • Identify forums, networks and sales opportunities which will help advance Blend’s growth

  • Think differently to create events which can enhance sales growth or relationship building with prospective buyers

  • Support and prepare for trade shows, exhibitions and designer markets.

  • Plan and execute email marketing campaigns, including drafting compelling newsletters and analysing campaign performance.


Based in Hellerup, the position offers around 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule to accommodate exams and other commitments. Remote work options are available when needed.

In addition, you will have most of the following traits:

  • Important: You are fluent in Danish and English.

  • Outgoing personality, willing to pick up the phone, enjoy sales.

  • Ability to respond to changing priorities in an evolving business environment.

  • Third-year bachelor student or master student, with at least half a year remaining of your studies.

  • Proficiency in assessing and presenting decisions analytically.

  • Entrepreneurial personality with a passion for social upliftment and good design.

  • Curious about the fastest growing large economy-India

  • Ambition, creativity and self-drive. You want to learn and challenge yourself to think differently.

  • Can work independently yet crave healthy feedback loops with your ideas.

The details

Location: Our office is situated in beautiful Hellerup North of Copenhagen. We’re a team of 2 people and growing.

Application: Through The Hub, as soon as possible with your CV, and a motivated letter. Examples of previous sales campaigns are greatly appreciated and encouraged.

Availability: Resumes are being reviewed, and we are scheduling meetings with potential candidates on a rolling basis. The position is available starting January 2025.

Duration and Intensity: This internship will last 4 months, but we can agree on different duration and intensities depending on your availabilities. If you are a student and internship is a compulsory part of your study program, we will try to adapt the schedule and timeline.

Salary: This is an UNPAID internship position.However, we do intend to recognize contribution via a certain commision on sales made.Interns might be considered for potential part-time, full-time, and freelance opportunities.

Through Blend, Shakti hopes to bring functional Danish design closer to the 5000 years old artisanal talent of India. When one wholeheartedly loves two countries so diametrically opposite to each other, then it’s impossible to hold back from exploring what a blend of these 2 cultures can offer to the world. Her desire to contribute to women empowerment through livelihood is rooted in her own experience and observation of how girls are still seen as a liability in many rural areas.
