Be My Eyes is on a mission to make the world more accessible for blind and low-vision individuals. Our platform connects visually impaired people with sighted volunteers and company representatives through live video calls for visual assistance. The Role

We are seeking a JavaScript Developer with a strong background in building complex web applications. You will play a pivotal role in nurturing our React and Next.js platform, enhancing our REST APIs, and ensuring our codebase is robust and scalable.

What You’ll Do

Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features. Refactor and improve existing codebases for better performance and maintainability. Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of professional experience in JavaScript development.
Proficiency in React and state management libraries like Redux.
Expertise in Next.js, with experience in maintaining Next.js applications.
Solid understanding of modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, ES6+).
Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Proven experience working with complex codebases.

Bonus Points

Experience with TypeScript.
Experience with React Native.
Familiarity with developing for the Windows platform.
Familiarity with accessibility standards and developing for users with disabilities.
Knowledge of modern API frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with Twilio API

Be My Eyes is a hybrid workplace with a flexible remote work policy.
This position requires to be in the office three days a week.
