We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Manager to oversee our accredited calibration laboratory. The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the lab, ensuring compliance with procedures and quality manuals, and leading the lab team. This role includes the technical leadership of the laboratory and maintaining high standards in calibration processes, development of new calibration methods, equipment maintenance, and staff training.
At Eupry we strive to be creative in how we develop and operate our calibrations, which means that we are looking for a laboratory manager who can think outside the box and challenge normal ways of doing things.
Responsibilities:
1. Laboratory Operations Management
- Technical Operations: Manage technical operations, ensuring adherence to both standard and non-standard procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure daily adherence to procedures and the quality manual, maintaining quality across all processes in the laboratory.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and control of laboratory equipment and ensure the technical conditions of the laboratory are suitable for operations.
- Calibration Oversight: Manage and oversee the planning, execution, and quality of all calibrations, including selecting methods and performing data analysis.
2. Staff and Training
- Staff Expertise and Training: Define required expertise and experience for staff, and plan and implement their training programs.
3. Compliance and Documentation
- Knowledge Management: Preserve and document technical knowledge and experience for all laboratory personnel.
- Inter-Laboratory Comparisons: Ensure inter-laboratory comparisons are conducted regularly to maintain standards.
- Corrective Actions: Designate suitable personnel to implement corrective actions as necessary.
4. Communication and Customer Interaction
- Internal Communication: Communicate with the logistics manager regarding laboratory operations, the CQO regarding quality assurance and meteorological questions.
- External Partnerships: Verify and approve new external partners, adding them to the approved list.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with end customers regarding temperature and humidity calibrations and related inquiries.
5. Oversight and Approvals
- Calibration Responsibility: Hold ultimate responsibility for calibrations, including final decisions on method selection, data analysis, and the accuracy of statements and interpretations.
- Tour Approvals: Approve all laboratory tours, either verbally or in writing.
As Eupry's Lab Manager, you’ll join a rapidly growing company expanding into the US market. You’ll oversee 25,000 calibrations annually, with plans to increase to 50,000.
