Role overview: 

Senior Data Scientist who owns Alice’s bespoke AI layer, ensuring that we bring the highest quality services to our students, while also managing internal data science projects and analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help define and execute the data science and machine learning strategy to support business goals

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of data and ML projects, from data collection and preprocessing to model development, validation, deployment, and maintenance. This will focus heavily on cutting-edge NLP

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product engineering and business stakeholders, to identify opportunities for leveraging our data to drive business solutions

• Building internal frameworks for e.g. automated quality evaluation of AI-generated content, or better understanding of behavioral data for improving the product, such as expanding upon the students’ dashboards to give a better overview of students’ strengths, weaknesses and general progress

Requirements:

• >5 years (>2 if PhD) of professional experience as a Data Scientist, ML Engineer, or similar, having designed and led the development of several projects

• Master’s degree (MSc) or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field

• Expertise in using typed Python to manipulate data and draw insights

• Professional experience writing production-ready code and follow good software engineering practices, including using Git for version control

• Being a creative team player, yet capable of working independently
