The real estate sector has huge potential for carbon reduction and is rapidly changing as regulators, customers, and the capital markets demand increasingly swift and aggressive action. Legacy has built a product to assist the real estate sector comply with regulations and live up to own ambitions of being sustainability leaders. Legacy’s CO2 accounting platform is fully auditable and transparent. We gather the actual consumption data and calculate the CO2 emissions associated with individual buildings. Our clients are able to export accurate, reliable and auditable data so they can not only comply with regulations, but also take steps towards reducing the climate impact they have.
We are looking for a Danish and English-speaking part-time Finance Manager (~2-3 days per week) who has the ability to help shape our trajectory to future funding rounds, and to support our international expansion across the EU and UK and beyond.
As our Finance Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and join a very dynamic and talented team who are passionate about helping real estate owners solve their carbon emissions and ESG challenges. You will work closely with colleagues across the business, and play a central role in developing Legacy into a true global sustainability leader.
Financial Management
Be accountable for owning and producing all Legacy’s financials, to an exceptional standard
Have a complete understanding and financial control of all elements affecting our financial position (e.g. bookkeeping; invoicing; pricing; loans; sales pipeline; etc.)
Handle all year and month-end reporting, and run and manage all of the accounts and numbers
Proactively devise ways in which Legacy’s overall financial position can be enhanced and drive the discussion and implementation of associated strategies
Analysis and Insight generation
Proactively generate strategic, commercial and operational insights from both the numbers and through observation
Continuously enhance your understanding of Legacy, including strategy; the competitive environment; commercial/operational value drivers; processes; systems; culture; key influencers; how things get done
Conduct scenario analysis around various business tactics and strategies, and support the CEO and management team in strategic decision-making
Business Planning
Work with the Legacy functions to write business and execution plans for BAU and specific initiatives
Assess functional business plans so that ROI can be calculated and capital can be deployed optimally (e.g. sales and marketing)
Devise tools which non-finance colleagues can use to support and enhance decision-making and execution
Building Partnerships and Operations
Build relationships with all relevant stakeholders to drive insight creation and dissemination
Be accountable for various operational processes/activities and provide ad-hoc support to the business where required
Act as a trusted advisor to colleagues and provide ad-hoc or ‘real-time’ analytical support
Work with all teams to ensure timely incorporation of the latest financial data
Funding
Support the CEO and wider team in driving Legacy’s progress and preparedness for Series-A funding and beyond
Coordinate with VCs around financials and run the FDD, Legal DD and other relevant DD processes
Ambassadorial
Be a key member of various operating teams as required, and chair meetings across the business as appropriate
Play an active role in discussions with investors and in matters involving Legacy’s funding position
Be a role model to colleagues in general and promote the ‘so-what?’ and ‘owner’ mindset
Fluent in Danish and English (company language) and comfortable in settings both at home and abroad
Able to work in Copenhagen
Possess either a chartered accountancy qualification or have significant experience as a Finance professional
Have the ability and demonstrated experience of operating way beyond the traditional definition of a finance manager (the ‘nuts and bolts’ of finance are second nature to you; you invest your energy in generating actionable strategic insights and working with the teams in the business to enhance operations)
