We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to join our AI and Data team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the development and implementation of data platforms, business intelligence and AI solutions, that use the extensive clinical and financial data collected in our system to revolutionize how healthcare resources are utilized and patient care is delivered.
Our AI and Data team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to build, deploy and scale the next generation data infrastructure and business intelligence functionalities in our hospital management system. You will be reporting to Marco, our Chief Data Officer, and will work closely with the broader engineering organization on ML/data-related features in Unumed HMS.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Designing a data stack that facilitates low-latency/real-time analytics and the development of AI applications in Unumed HMS
Managing ELT between our MongoDB application database and an analytical database or data warehouse using CDC
Applying data modelling to structure warehouse data in a way that’s efficient, future-proof and maintainable
Enabling dashboards and business intelligence, both internally and for our HMS users, by implementing and maintaining a business intelligence platform and user-facing reports
Ensuring robustness and reliability through testing, monitoring and observability
Expert knowledge of the Python programming language
Knowledge of relational/non-relational databases
Familiarity with all levels of the modern data stack
Proven track record of building and managing a data warehouse or analytical database
Extensive experience with ELT/ETL and CDC
Experience with a BI platform
Familiarity with data modeling for data warehouses, e.g. dimensional modeling
Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation tools
Proficiency with SQL and Python’s data science stack (numpy, pandas, duckdb, polars..)
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. jenkins) and data orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster
Have 4+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer or similar role
Are structured and able to prioritize multiple projects
Have willingness and demonstrated ability to learn about new technologies and industries
Bring a positive attitude and new perspective
Are a skilled communicator
