Seasony was founded with the belief that robotics and automation are the keys to a future of vertical farming. Our goal is to enable vertical farming to be profitable, scalable, efficient and pave the way for a sustainable agricultural transformation. 

Through a software engineering internship with Seasony you can get your hands dirty working on the very edge of C++ robotics software for mobile robots. You will be working with experienced software developers in a startup environment, helping to improve the codebase and build new software components for the robot.   

We are looking for someone who: 

• Excited about working on the very front of robotics software 

• Prioritizes writing quality software from the get-go instead of quick and dirty mockups 

• Is well-versed in C++ 

• Knows about CMake, Git and Docker 

• Would like to play with continuous integration and Docker environments in a growing organization 

• Is excited about software programming for robotics 

• Is interested in learning from some of the smartest robotics developers in the country 

Tasks you’ll be involved in: 

• Define and strengthen software practices in a growing startup company including coding conventions, style-guides and linting 

• Explore setting up continuous integration pipelines for ROS2 nodes and libraries 

• Set-up Docker environments to be used by both developers and CI pipelines 

• Identify room for optimizations of algorithms using OpenCL, OpenMP or CUDA 

• Participate in the architecture design of new libraries and software components for the robots 

• Write new software components and unit tests, taking them all from architecture design to testing in sim and finally on the robot
