QA Automation Tech Lead

Role

We're now looking for a talented and passionate QA Tech Lead, who will have a great impact by driving forward and structuring our QA and test Automation processes to ensure the overall quality of Airtames products. Working from our new HQ in the heart of Copenhagen.

As a QA Tech Lead, you will be working closely across the entire R&D team supporting our product managers, engineering teams, and tech support to ensure the overall product quality. You will be responsible for leading the technical decisions regarding the QA and Test setup and ensuring high-quality standards are met. 

At Airtame it is the QA Engineer's word that decides whether we release and you will be the pinnacle in ensuring the product's success. If you enjoy conscious exploratory testing, love to break things, and want to write a bit of code on the way — you are welcome on board!

Responsibilities

• Act as a sparring partner and support to your peer QA Engineers, provide guidance and advice on best practice Automation processes where you can, collaborating with them to identify potential issues and devise effective solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects.

• Be the Subject Area Expert for one of our engineering products and projects. 

• Continuously improve the QA processes and identify areas for growth. 

• Own the QA aspect of the whole Software Development Lifecycle on projects, from the ideation stage through feature design, implementation, and regression testing.

• Create test design and test documentation for upcoming features.

• Run exploratory testing sessions on existing functionality.

• Take responsibility and ownership of our in-house customized test rig, and implement frameworks to support and improve our testing capabilities.

To be successful in this role, you will be/ have:

• Able to articulate and clearly convey the scopes of the problems by identifying key issues and providing input to stakeholders. 

• Your colleagues think you are a good team player that works towards common goals and you collaborate smoothly with engineers from multidisciplinary and remote teams.

• Strong proficiency in efficient Automation test design (identify the use and misuse cases, understand risk, do prioritization).

• Confidence to work autonomously (being comfortable with planning, prioritizing, re-prioritizing, estimating, and scheduling your own workload).

• Experience and/or willingness to work in a geographically distributed remote team (Team in Europe).

• Proactiveness and a can-do attitude

• Delivery-oriented mindset

• Good communication skills (in English)

Technical competencies 

• Previous experience in testing Hardware, Firmware, and Software 

• Understanding when it's worth going for automation, and when to do manual testing instead

• Understanding of the CI/CD concept

• Hands-on experience with API testing:

  • HTTP/curl/Postman

• Extensive  automation experience

• Ability to write tests in Python (using pytest and pyro). Plus familiarity with JS/TS (using playwright)

• QA process optimization

• Good working knowledge of Linux, ideally with some systems administration experience
