Backed by a successful series A funding round of 15 million EUR, we are strengthening our finance efforts across Denmark, Finland, and Germany. We're on the lookout for an ambitious, Danish-speaking Senior Financial Controller with a passion for financial modeling.
Building the foundation for future success
As our Senior Financial Controller, you'll be an essential part of our Finance function, and have the chance to be a pivotal part of setting the scene for how we design the finance function and financial processes going forward. We are moving from start-up to scale and as part of the process, you will have the chance to work with introducing new systems, new markets, and new services to our customers while safeguarding that we stay able to provide smooth financial steering and transparency in performance. The role requires high structural skills, proficiency in auditing and communication, curiosity as to how to operate cross countries, and a drive to develop and succeed along with the growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Communication of financial performance to Flatpays management team as well as investors
Preparing the monthly financial statement covering Denmark, Finland, and Germany as well as the management reporting.
Planning and execution of financial control as well as being responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping and the monthly payroll process – partly in cooperation with external service providers.
Communication and coordination with external parties such as external auditors and local tax authorities on VAT reporting.
Choosing and implementing a new ERP system – a project that we expect to kick off at the end of 2023.
Design the future financial processes of Flatpay as we grow into more countries, both in terms of understanding the local rules and procedures and integrating them into our current structures.
Analyzing financial aspects of business plans, including new services and expansion to new markets.
Provide financial support to Flatpay’s senior management.
Qualifications
Strong financial skills within financial controlling with experience with Danish reporting requirements and interest in expanding this to other European markets, currently Finland and Germany.
Analytical mindset by nature with an interest in understanding the underlying dynamics of the business.
Excellent communication skills, especially in writing in both Danish and English.
A master's degree in finance or auditing or related fields. A background from auditing is a plus.
Self-motivation and the ability to work independently as well as interest in exploring new markets.
At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role is desirable. However, a bright mind and eagerness to learn surpass years of experience or an extended education.
