Embedded software developer at IDUN audio

Salary Competitive

Position as an embedded software developer working with spatial audio

We are looking for experienced embedded software developers, with a background in audio signal processing, to join our exceptional team in enabling our dynamic spatial audio software on various wireless headphones.

Who we are

IDUN audio is a fast-growing startup developing embedded dynamic spatial audio software. Our unique spatial audio engine makes it possible to create many sound sources around a listener wearing headphones. The sources can be placed in any acoustical space, from a small sound studio to a large concert hall. The listener is free to move to explore the sound, due to tracking devices in the headphones. This advanced embedded software platform can be configured to improve how sound is experienced, in many different everyday situations, like in online meetings, while gaming, watching movies, listening to music, etc.

What you will be working with

We are looking for experienced embedded software developers, with a background in audio signal processing, for implementing our spatial audio software on different hardware platforms. The work entails implementing our core technology on various signal processing units, typically found in wireless headphones and truly wireless earbuds. It is therefore important that you should have experience with embedded hardware, in order to write efficient code on these target platforms. It is also important that you understand the general audio signal processing architecture in headphones, in order to handle inputs from tracking systems, Bluetooth, and apps. Commonly embedded chipsets include ARM Cortex-A/M, Tensilica HIFI 3/4/5, RISC V and the Bluetooth chipsets are from Qualcomm, Airoha, and BES.

Who you are

  • You have a proven track record (at least two years) of working with current audio-embedded software.

  • In particular, you have experience with implementing audio algorithms on DSPs.

  • You typically have a master's degree in computer science, engineering, acoustics, or something similar that is related to embedded software development.

  • You enjoy working on ambitious goals in a startup with other highly-motivated people.

  • You have a strong sense of responsibility and are able to plan and execute your work according to agreed deliverables.

  • If you have a strong background in porting to code to audio DSPs, and especially if you have worked on Bluetooth chipsets, that would be a big plus!

How to apply

If you are interested in being part of an enthusiastic team of entrepreneurs who are hell-bent on bringing truly groundbreaking spatial audio to the world, please send your CV and a short application letter to us. Since the job is available at our office in Copenhagen, only apply if you are able to work full-time in Copenhagen. No recruiters, please.

Working at
IDUN audio

IDUN audio is a Copenhagen-based startup developing spatial audio software for headphones, making them sound 3-dimensional, just like in real life. As humans we can naturally hear where sound is coming from, and how far away things are. But when listening with headphones we cannot use these abilities since all the sound is inside our heads. This is a very unnatural experience, making us tired at the end of the day. We are radically changing this with our breakthrough spatial audio technology using head tracking. With IDUNs technology running in the headphone, listening with headphones becomes as natural as in everyday situations.
