Science Intern for MATR Foods
Sustainable food start-up in Nordhavn ready to start commercial scaling.
MATR Foods is a 2-year-old start-up on a mission to radically change the environmental impact of how we eat. We develop cutting-edge microbial solutions that allow us to transform local organic ingredients into delicious and nutritious food that is better for humans and the planet. We have launched our first line of products in branded partnerships with Gasoline Grill and Sticks n’ Sushi as well as in canteens and restaurants. We are now looking to start our production and commercial scaling and build a solid strategy for international expansion.
The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and talented Science Intern to join our dynamic food technology start-up. As a Science Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with our experienced research team and gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of fermentation technology. This internship will provide you with exposure to cutting-edge research projects, innovative food product development, and a fast-paced start-up environment.
Science intern - Reporting directly to the Head of Product Development of MATR Foods.
To support our mission, we are looking for a 3-6 months, unpaid internship position full-time.
As main tasks, you will:
Execute predefined tests according to protocol.
Collect, log, and analyze data.
Execute research projects.
Conduct literature reviews and generate summaries.
Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
Assist in other tasks and projects as assigned by the research team.

Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
Proficient in data analysis and scientific software tools.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
