Legal and Compliance Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on, and experienced Legal and Compliance officer to help us further develop and expand our business model set-up. As the Legal and Compliance Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that we as an organization comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.  Your primary objective will be to drive our business expansion into new markets and make sure we implement our business model according to local rules and regulations when it comes to our legal business structure, taxation, import, export requirements, marketing and recycling rules within the beverage industry. In addition, all existing legal/contractual matters will be part of your work scope. Requirements:

  • Proven at least 5 years of work experience in legal or compliance roles

  • Strong understanding of business/economics and legal matters

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Think proactively and be a self-starter

  • Bachelor's/Masters's degree in law, business or related field

  • You speak and write English fluently (other languages is a plus)

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations, such as corporate taxation, legal business set-up, VAT, excise duties

  • Experience in managing contracts and litigation matters.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities


Responsibilities:

  • Work with the executive team to drive our legal business model set-up in markets we want to operate in 

  • Manage the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Conduct regular assessments of the organization's compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Be the interface to other functions e.g. sales, marketing, customer success, and development team to educate colleagues on legal and compliance requirements and make sure they are integrated into our day-to-day operations

  • Stay up-to-date on changes to laws and regulations that may impact the organization's operations

  • Manage the organization's contracts, intellectual property, and litigation matters

  • Provide legal guidance to the executive team and other employees as needed
