SmallClaims is looking for a Head of Engineering 

At SmallClaims we are looking for a Head of Engineering that wants to join us in our mission to revolutionize the legal industry by digitizing one of the most complex legal areas being lawsuits. Through the use of technology, we want to remove the need for an attorney in small claim lawsuits so everyone with a small claim can finally claim what is rightfully theirs. 

About SmallClaims

SmallClaims is a Danish legal tech startup digitizing the process for small claim lawsuits within the court systems in Denmark, but with global ambitions to scale up the product for the whole European Union. As previous Attorneys, we know that both businesses and consumers give up small claims simply because the Attorney fees are higher than the claim. This is the problem SmallClaims is solving by digitizing the previous manual process for small claim lawsuits making it possible to pursue small claims profitably through the court system. Technology is our DNA and we are strongly committed to our mission which falls under the United Nations Development Goal number 16 by providing fair access to justice for all.

We have already processed more than 200 lawsuits with a win rate of +98%. We have a product and we are a team of 4 people with an office in Christianshavn in Copenhagen. We have already raised money from both public and private investors and expect to raise more money to support growth and global ambitions.

About the position 

You will be working in the engineering team, which currently consist of two full time software engineers. We are looking for a super skilled full stack software engineer to head engineering and initially the product development process. You will have a senior level of responsibility and be able to put your footprint on the development process and write the code that powers the product we are building. You will be in charge of the process of deciding what tech stack we shall build, and you will write the source code. In the years to come we will hire more software engineers and data scientists and we imagine you will be their team lead. About you

We are looking for a candidate with a high level of experience in software development. Have you already worked with digitizing processes for a conservative industry - as the legal industry - this is a big plus. What we are doing is difficult and has not been done by many if any, it is therefore important that you can envision and build our tech stack and find a way we can leverage the possibilities of the data we collect. Having experience with the product development journey is a clear plus. You are a team player, and a social mindset will also be much appreciated.
