Do you want to join a fast-growing startup ecosystem player, working to make a real difference for startups in the Nordics?
At Mesh Community we work with the objective to boost the startup ecosystem in the Nordics, in order to help startups grow faster and smarter.
We create startup hubs that combine startup offices, co-working spaces and event facilities to stimulate networking opportunities for our startups, members and other visitors. In addition we run The Hub, the leading startup recruitment platform in the Nordics.
During the pandemic we made a strategic decision to double down on our commitment to provide deep and valuable services to the Nordic Startup scene. We believe relevant and curated events, internal and external are vital for us to achieve this. At Mesh Community we host 2000 + events a year spread across our Nordic CoWorking Hubs.
And we are now looking to strengthen our services further, with a new colleague to join as Head of Events and help us achieve this!
We want to find someone to help us create the best event-based content for the Startup ecosystem in the Nordics, and establish Mesh Community as the go-to place to seek out such events.
As our new Head of Events you will help curate and create the best event series in a quarterly programme consisting of our own events, customer events at our Hubs, partner events and big community events in our countries such as Slush, TechBBQ, StartupExtreme and CPH Townhall.
We want to feed people interested in what is happening around the Nordic startup ecosystem with the relevant events and necessary information for easily navigating and having an overview.
You will join our Products & Services department, which consists of our Communications & Content Manager Kimberly and our CEO Anders. We are currently looking for 2 additional colleagues to join this team, including this role.
You will both be responsible for developing and communicating the quarterly programme, as well as the creation of supporting happenings around the big main events, including setting up side events and networking dinners around these.
You will be working closely with the rest of the Products & Services team reporting to Anders, and with the GMs and unit managers across our different hubs, as well as our customers and event partners.
If you are into events and have a passion for startups, this is the ultimate job combining huge events, deep events and dinners. We want to do the cool and edgy events that people happily queue to join and remember for years after, compared to traditional boring ones. We want to build something unique! And we wish for you to take ownership of developing this service.
Your responsibilities will be:
Set and curate our quarterly program through collaboration with our Coworking Hubs and other eco-system collaborators
Plan, implement, and execute internal Mesh events both as project lead and as a contributor to the local team
Coordinate and facilitate representation of Mesh Community and all our daughter companies at relevant third-party events.
The ideal candidate is an experienced events person, who we imagine has a background at an event agency for a couple of years, and know-how on running both smaller and larger events. You know how to develop a great event programme, as well as executing it in a way that leaves customers more than satisfied. We belief you have a creative mindset, get inspired by futuristic concepts, while on the same time being organised and happy to take ownership.
Requirements:
+5 years work experience with events planning/execution
Ability to multitask and handle many balls in the air
Organised and able to deliver on tight deadlines
Fluent in English + at least one Nordic language
Bonus points for:
Project Management skills
Creativity and ability to think outside the box
Passion for startups
We prefer our new colleague to work from Oslo, but Copenhagen, Trondheim, and Stockholm can also be accepted.
A job with lots of room to take ownership and influence our business
Great opportunity to grow and learn
Travel and work with inspiring people
Competitive salary matching your experience
Top-tier office space in the heart of Oslo
A startup culture focused on fast growth, high ambitions, initiative, autonomy, and responsibility
