With two global locations, Cludo is excited to hire a Legal Counsel in our Copenhagen office.
The role
We are seeking a business-oriented Legal Counsel interested in making a high-impact contribution with a range of corporate legal matters. As the primary legal entity for Cludo, you will support the company's growth with your business and legal skills. In this position, you will play a key role in advising the entire organization on legal and data protection matters, drive the ongoing development and implementation of our legal processes, be a central part of various contractual negotiations, and manage Cludo’s compliance program. What you'll do
Research, review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including SLA, DPA, general terms and conditions, partnership agreements, and vendor/supplier agreements with the ability to capture complex legal and business concepts in a clear, concise, and easy-to-understand manner
Ensure compliance with data privacy/data security regulations and industry standards (e.g. ISO 27001, SOC 2/3, ISAE 3000)
Ensure data privacy risk and due diligence assessments (i.e. TIA, DPIA, vendor assessments)
Provide legal support for internal teams, including sales, customer experience product, people operations and technology on their business documentation, agreements, compliance, and regulations
Serve as the main point of contact internally and externally (i.e. with consultants, public authorities, data subjects, and auditors…) on legal or compliance matters and support Cludo with audit requests
Develop and optimize legal policies and workflows
Advise Cludo’s leadership and management on various matters
Provide training and consultation to the employees and various departments
Contribute to improvements of standards and legal processes and systems to help us scale as a SaaS provider
Maintain files and records of all contracts, legal documents, internal policies, and company assets (i.e. insurance, IP rights)
Provide legal research and analysis
What we need to see from you
Master’s degree in Law (Cand.jur, Cand.merc.jur, LLM. or equivalent)
2+ years of relevant experience as an in-house counsel or in a law firm
High degree of integrity, dependability, and confidentiality with all levels of the organization
Excellent English communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Danish is a plus.
Strong collaboration skills and easily form relations in a multicultural environment
Organized and timely with high attention to detail and commitment to operational execution
Adaptable, proactive, and creative in solving problems
Bonus points if you have
Experience and passion for the software industry, especially SaaS
Working experience with data privacy laws, including GDPR and the negotiation of data protection and security terms and agreements
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal, and good interaction with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Ability to assess different risk factors and balance them with business decisions
High aptitude for negotiating contracts and overcoming disputes
Socially inclusive to the unique needs of a global team
Self-motivated and able to take initiative, working well both independently and as part of a team
Ability to explain complex information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner
Experience in handling international and multi-jurisdictional matters
