Digital Design Intern

Salary Unpaid

At Klimate, we are devoted to accelerating the development and adoption of technologies that can help fight climate change by actively removing CO2 from the atmosphere. We empower companies to compensate for unavoidable emissions through portfolios of carbon removal projects. Klimate’s portfolios aggregate and broker the best suppliers and projects ranging from forestry and soil sequestration to biochar and direct air capture.

We are looking for someone to support the design and product part of an ambitious start-up that strives to be the leading broker of carbon removal solutions. We are looking for someone with a solid interest in climate change and a strong sense of esthetic coupled with a structured approach to problem-solving.

The challenge

The science is clear: We are emitting 50 Gigatons of CO2 annually, and we need to reduce that by at least 80%. Doing this still leaves 10 Gigatons of CO2 emitted annually, and we need to get all the way to net zero. At Klimate, we’re working hard to solve this problem.

Trees are great, but we need many more solutions if we are to get to net zero by 2050. Currently, most of these are too expensive (and limited in capacity) for companies to use. We've developed a platform that combines different projects and methods, making carbon removal solutions available to all companies wanting to remove their unavoidable emissions.

We have a powerful product and we have proven our market fit; now we need to step up our visual identity, materials, and the overall look and feel of what we do to differentiate ourselves further from our competition. That's where you come in!

Responsibilities

As a digital design intern, you will be a key member of our product team and work closely with our Head of Product, Simon Lauwerier. Your responsibilities will depend on your current strengths and the areas you want to explore further. We currently have support needs in the following areas:

  • Web design and implementation (using WordPress and Divi, though we may be open to other web tools like Webflow)
