Kaffe Bueno is a bioscience company using green chemistry and biotechnology to upcycle coffee's by-product into ingredients for cosmetics, nutraceuticals and functional foods. Our mission is to unlock coffee's health potential where harmful emissions are minimised and coffee’s by-product usability is maximised Our vision is to transform the way people perceive coffee; to look at it as a magical bean with the potential of improving human health by using what lies inside it.

We are currently on our way to building Europe 1st coffee biorefinery, and we are looking for different position to continue our scale up. Ideally you are a graduate student within biochemical engineering or biotechnology or related background. You have interest in the areas related to biorefineries and the biobased economy and at least 2 years of experience in the related industries.

Tasks:

• Setting up and running production days

• Optimization and scale up of different processes within lab to pilot scale. (downstream and upstream)

• Assist R&D team in the different ingredient/application/formula development projects we got going on within personal care, foods/beverages and nutraceuticals.

• Analyse and interpret results with the different lab equipment available. (Uv-vis, AA assays among others)

• Leadership and organizational skills are key. Able to organize and lead team.

Additional knowledge or experience working with scaling up processes to a multi ton scale would be good but not a must. However, the most important requirement is your attitude and willingness to learn in a rapid pace environment. We currently have a small but growing and experience engineering team, which you will work side by side and contribute to our mission and goal of building the worlds' first coffee biorefinery. We have different downstream, upstream and analytical equipment that you will must probably use.

You will work in a challenging but engaging environment, and everyday brings it own challenges, while we try push the limits in what is possible with coffee's biomass.
