At Klimate, we are devoted to accelerating the development and adoption of technologies that can help fight climate change by actively removing CO2 from the atmosphere. We empower companies to compensate for unavoidable emissions through portfolios of carbon removal projects. Klimate’s portfolios aggregate and broker the best suppliers and projects ranging from forestry and soil sequestration to biochar and direct air capture.
We are looking for someone to lead our sustainability analysis and be part of an ambitious start-up that strives to be the leading broker of carbon removal solutions. We are looking for someone with a solid grasp of climate change and strong analytical skills coupled with strategic foresight.
The science is clear: We are emitting 50 Gigatons of CO2 every year, and we need to reduce that by at least 80%. Doing this still leaves 10 Gigatons of CO2 emitted annually, and we need to get all the way to net-zero. At Klimate, we’re working hard to solve this problem.
Trees are great, but we need many more solutions if we are to get to net-zero by 2050. Currently, most of these are too expensive (and limited in capacity) for companies to use. We've developed a platform that combines different projects and methods, making carbon removal solutions available to all companies wanting to remove their unavoidable emissions.
We already have amazing suppliers and clients who are early adopters and true pioneers. We constantly add suppliers and grow our customer base. To remove more carbon, we need to advance our assessment and offering of suppliers and portfolios. At the same time, we constantly work to provide better insights to and about our customers and suppliers. We have an experienced sustainability professional (Simon) on the founding team, but time is scarce and we need someone to develop and improve upon the analytical setup of our carbon removal projects, portfolios, suppliers and customers.
Klimate’s portfolios allow companies to counterbalance their hard-to-abate residual emissions in order to achieve Net Zero. This is only realised if the carbon credits purchased from project operators are of high-quality. Carbon removal projects will have to be sourced and vetted to ensure this.
As our Carbon Removal Specialist, you will be responsible for further developing our Supplier Analysis Framework and Due Diligence process. You will provide data-based insights and develop reports, research and dashboards on our suppliers and customers, the net-zero market, and Klimate’s overall business. You will also be contributing to our work with other stakeholders in this space, most important standards, registries, and other verification partners.
Your main task will be to turn data, science and knowledge into actionable insights that can help us grow the company and provide more value for our suppliers and customers.
