What Mai is

Mai is a tech startup that helps sell people's clothes. The resale market is on a rise, but it has been too troublesome for people to get their items into the market and get their items sold. We are building an engine that automatically sells an item for them, and they keep 80% of the price. Read more at maiapp.se.

We use cutting edge technology to sell our users' items online. The Mai Machine uses machine learning to set the right prices, distribute the items to multiple online sales channels, adjust prices when needed, renew listings and pay out 80% to the seller when sold.

And the best of all (and what drives us): At scale, Mai could play a significant role in lowering the emissions from the fashion industry. Buying and selling used instead of new is the #1 most effective way to lower the emissions.

We are now looking for software engineers who would like to to join us (as early employees & shareholders) on the mission to change how people sell and buy clothes.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for capable and flexible engineers who can work across the stack and various technologies, and that are eager to solve complex problems. Ideally, you will have knowledge and experience of the current technologies (React Native, Node.js, Firebase, GCP, Typescript). The offer includes a competitive salary and shares in the company.

• You have experience working hands-on as a Software Engineer and/or Architect in an agile environment.

• Experience from working in a startup environment is a great bonus.

• You enjoy the rapid pace of an early stage startup and the high variety of problems to solve.

• Knowledgeable with modern languages and environments.

What You'll Do

• You will be part of a small cross-functional team of different domain experts working closely with the founding team.

• You’ll work on whatever challenges prove to be most important, often focused on automating and scaling the selling of items on the second hand market.

• You’ll collaborate with your colleagues to identify and solve challenging problems.

• Katarina Bendtz, Data and Machine Learning Scientist: Research experience from Brains, Minds and Machines at Harvard/MIT among other.

• Tobias Rosman, Co-founder: Previous Co-founder of Welcome App, UX designer and Product Manager background. Most recently worked as Product Manager at Epidemic Sound.

• Emma Rosman, Co-founder Previously Co-founder of Welcome App, Business strategy and partnerships background. Most recently worked as Business Area Manager at Kry.
