ROLE PRODUCT & PROJECT OWNER
TEAM PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, SOUND TEAM
HOURS FULL TIME
LOCATION COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
START DATE DECEMBER 1ST 2022
The Product Development team combines a group of talented young people with seasoned professionals who proudly develop the backbone of our company together. We are self-driven and collaborative and work with a large cross-discipline understanding and ownership.
It’s in our DNA to creatively challenge the potential of loudspeakers by mixing technology and user friendly designs in a way that makes us frontrunners within our categories. We explore new technologies and like to be at the forefront of what is possible in order to deliver the very best products. Customer value comes first, always, but we are close to the business and work towards commercial targets as well.
As an experienced Project Manager and Product Owner, you're involved in all steps of a product development process, ensuring productive results from idea to mass production. You embrace all phases and are eager to deliver the best experience for our customers in due time. We structure our days and weeks in adherence with the agile frameworks which is why, in this complex role, you’ll lead projects from scoping to successful outcomes while always ensuring customer-driven and agile execution.
Okay, let’s make things a little more concrete. Here’s what we expect your daily life to look like:
The role consists of two key responsibilities as Project Manager and Product Owner. In general, you’ll be working closely with the Director of Speaker Development to communicate the product vision, goals and objectives to various stakeholders, as well as prioritizing and executing projects from idea to mass production in the SOUND team.
As the Project Manager --
You’ll be accountable for coordinating and delivering projects successfully by achieving time, cost, quality and performance for products.
You’ll be the main driver of agile process optimization within all stages of product development and new product introductions. That includes effectively tracking progress, updating the plan at each iteration milestone, identifying and minimizing risk, identifying dependencies between work streams and coordinating them to align all stakeholders of a project.
To drive the overall plan execution and readjust roadmaps accordingly, you’ll be supporting multiple development teams in executing an on-time and high-quality delivery of product iterations. This includes interacting closely and often with a range of functions from marketing and R&D, over community support to operations.
As the Product Owner --
You’ll be accountable for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the engineering team’s work.
You’ll be cooperating with business leaders as well as customer-focused and commercial functions to translate business and customer needs into product deliverables.
You’ll be the customer and market evangelist in each sprint planning session, thereby clarifying the priorities, ensuring user stories are getting satisfied, guiding acceptance criteria and keeping the team focused on valuable deliveries.
You’ll be developing and executing the customer engagement plans strategy. Engineers like to focus on cool features that customers don’t necessarily need, and you’ll be the one taking the customers’ POV to ensure highest use value. This includes identifying and managing customer relationships, planning research activities, analyzing results and reporting back to the team for integration into future plans.
You’ll be cooperating and managing suppliers and partners to maintain project timelines, explore innovative solutions and achieve design, cost, quality and performance goals for new products.
In order to become a success in this role, we believe that your profile should be aligned with the bullets listed below. However, we acknowledge that success can take many forms, so please do apply even if you don’t tick all the boxes.
You embody and embrace taking ownership of finalized product concepts, but are equally excited about kicking off complex projects that entail interdependent aspects of software, firmware, electronics, acoustics, mechanics and design.
Your communication skills are immaculate as you’ll be at the center of a multidimensional communication net that includes internal and external stakeholders on all levels (e.g., internal teams like finance, supply chain, leadership, as well as external business partners, customers, suppliers and manufacturers).
You’re focused on the experience and perspective of the stakeholders you work with and thrive in an environment of honest and productive communication.
You possess an agile mindset and the toolbox to navigate a fast-paced organization where no two days are identical. Preferably, you have experience with the Atlassian suite and are familiar with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
You bring 5+ years of experience from being a project manager, product owner, product manager, or similar, preferably within consumer products that include the integration of electronics, firmware and mechanics.
You have a relevant educational background, preferably with a technical orientation.
We’d absolutely love it if you have experience collaborating with external manufacturing partners and managing projects with mass production.
Most importantly, you want to become part of an innovative and international community driven by the prospect of enabling people to have great experiences all over the world.
Intrigued? At SOUNDBOKS you’ll find yourself a part of a community. We realize that growth is a process and we don’t expect you to go through it alone. Actually, we guarantee that you won’t have to. We work together in order to work smarter, we inspire each other to be better, and we never forget that every member of the team is responsible for our success.
So, if you’re tired of all of the noise in the job market, we’d love to hear from you. This may be the coolest job you’ll ever have.
