We are looking for a manager to oversee day-to-day operations of our beautiful floatation space in the centre of Copenhagen. The person should be able to work between 25 and 37 hours per week.
Although floatation has been around since the 50s, it is new in Denmark. Our goal is to make floatation a recognized therapy form, to educate the Danish population about its benefits, and to carry out our own research on the positive effects of floatation.
This is an exciting role that will undoubtedly evolve over time with the company. The most important tasks are:
Managing our brilliant team of float masters and massage therapists (9-12 people) and ensuring everyone is working towards a common goal. That includes onboarding and training of staff, ensuring handbooks and other documentation are kept up-to-date, and organizing staff events.
Working together with other team members to ensure the best possible customer experience, customer service and offerings/packages
Ensuring our float space stays clean, functional and beautiful. This includes maintenance of float tanks and float rooms, small repairs, delegating tasks to the team, keeping our plants happy, stock management, laundry etc
Spending time connecting with our customers to better understand their needs and providing this important feedback to our other team members in order to develop and grow our business
Careful monitoring of costs and revenue on a monthly basis. Working with our bookkeeper to manage costs, liquidity etc
Regular communication with the owner about potential issues or opportunities within the organization
Establish new systems and procedures that will help us to work more efficiently, have a better working environment and become more profitable.
Support other team members with their tasks, e.g. a float event, a photoshoot, installation of new equipment etc
Work 4-5 float master shifts per week.
We use the following platforms that you will of course receive training in:
Planday - shift plan, staff events and staff documents
Slack - internal communication including daily reports
Google drive - other documents, media, etc
Acuity - booking system
ClassPass - a partner fitness platform through which customers can book
Trello - task management, cleaning schedule
We are looking for a highly-driven and experienced manager who will take initiative, execute on ideas, inspire and motivate our team, streamline operations and take us to the next level! Of course this magic person should also be passionate about health and well-being. It is a huge advantage if they have experience working within the health and/or service sectors.
It goes without saying (though I'll say it!) that our new manager should be responsible, highly organized, flexible, emotionally intelligent and great at problem-solving.
Working hours will primarily be during the weekdays, but will also include some evening and weekend shifts depending on availability of other team members, holidays and of course our bookings.
It is very helpful if you can understand and speak some Danish, but it is not a requirement for the position.
You will be part of an energetic and international team who are passionate about health and well-being. Our guests are always commenting on the good vibes at our place, and that's due to the surroundings, the team and all the positive floatation and massage treatments going on - it's simply a great place to be! Your work will truly make a difference, both within our team and to all the guests that you interact with.
In the beginning, you will spend time learning the float master role, in order to understand how the place runs and the flawless customer experience we strive to deliver.
Salary will depend on experience and will be paid by the hour. A full-time contract and company equity are a possibility after a trial period.
We are an international and primarily female bunch. Irish, French, Thai, Slovakian, British, Swedish, Latvian, Brazilian...and a couple of Danes!
Our team comprises:
Juliana, Rob, Erik, Katrina, Laurette - Our fabulous float masters
Ruth, Jack, Narakorn and Amal - Our amazing therapists (Ruth is also a body therapist and manager of the massage team)
Amanda - Customer services manager
Janett & Katrina - Marketing
Maria - B2B sales
Shelley - Owner and Director
Katrina is our current operational manager, but is completing her Masters degree and unfortunately doesn't have time to have her full focus on Copenhagen Float. She will however remain a part of the team and be a valuable part of our new manager's training.
