Matr Foods is a young company on a mission to radically change the environmental impact of how we eat. We develop cutting edge microbial solutions that allow us to transform side-streams into delicious and nutritious food, at a global scale. By upcycling waste streams and using no waste fermentation, we are looking to create a series of products that are absolutely delicious and better for the health of both people and planet, compared to most other current plant-based alternatives in the market.
We are in the middle of launching our first products in Denmark, and this is only where our ambitions begin. We are planning to develop a feast of upcycled products with different local side-streams.
To help us accomplish our mission we are looking for an ambitious Quality and Sustainability manager to push the boundaries for food product excellence, and continuously ensure we comply with existing law and meet best practices at Matr Foods as our production grows. The Quality and Sustainability Manager will be responsible for collecting the environmental data of the production, document the carbon footprint of the product (cradle to grave), and propose actions to continuously improve the planetary impact of Matr Foods. The task furthermore includes product quality control, organic accounting risk management, and certification management. Balancing interpretation of food regulations and certification requirements with outside-of-the-box-thinking will be needed to ensure speed and resilience in a changing food landscape. The job includes efficient communication with the managing team, production workers, and will continuously work with the team to implement quality control standards in practice.
The Quality and Sustainability Manager is expected to have prior experience in production space compliance and communication with food authorities in similar or relevant consumer-oriented companies and ideally checks the following boxes:
Experience with optimizing productions to meet Danish legislation, ideally within plant based and fermented food products.
Excellent knowledge of environmental certifications and their application process.
Solid experience with food production compliance systems and documentation management
Expertise with how to organize hygienic and efficient food manufacturing processes
Deep understanding of microbial contamination risks and cross-contamination prevention
Understanding of fermentation and food byproduct use for circular food production is a plus
Plus demonstrated experience within:
HACCP
SOP
GMP
Organic accounting sheets (økologiregnskab)
We can promise you that it is going to be fun and exciting. You’ll learn a lot and you will be a part of what we consider to be one of the best and most ambitious teams in the industry.
