We now have the opportunity to look for a Legal Counsel to join our awesome and growing team. We're on a mission to scale our operations and maximize value to our existing and future customers.
Reporting to our Director of Legal Affairs, Christel, you will support our legal organization and the whole Penneo acting as a trusted advisor enabling the company to execute our strategy.
We foresee the following responsibilities, but you’ll have the opportunity and freedom to influence and define it with us.
Contract negotiation with customers and vendors.
Support and advice Penneo to ensure our international expansion.
Act as an advisor and company expert on elDAS and GDPR regulation.
Support Engineering and Product in the development of IT tools.

Recently graduated or just started your legal career.
Master degree in Law, Commercial Law or similar.
Experience or strong interest in elDAS and GDPR regulation.
Knowledge about negotiations including IT contracts.
Experience or eager to support development of IT tools.
Master English and at least one other among German, Dutch or French.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to deal with multiple stakeholders.
Proactive approach and can take a project all the way to the finish line.
Experience from a SaaS or Scale Up-environment

During the 1st month you will:
Meet your new colleagues and understand who is doing what.
Get comfortable with the day-to-day operations of the Legal team.
Understand the problems Penneo solves for customers
Participate in Penneo’s onboarding program for all new Penneos.
Within 3 months you will:
Be able to negotiate contracts.
Maintain and improve current Contract Negotiation documents.
Suggest areas / processes, where Legal can add value to the Penneo Products.
Look into international legislation.
Within 6 months you will:
Have the day-to-day operational responsibility for different legal questions concerning product development.
Deep diving into new areas of legislation concerning international expansion.
Have the day-to-day operational responsibility for different legal questions concerning employment law, pension scheme, insurances.
Take responsibility on different ad hoc tasks.

Call with our Director of Legal Affairs, Christel (~45m): Getting to know each other, assessing for mutual fit, introduction to the impact and goals for the position
Collaboration round (~1h): Together with the two members of the company you will discuss your approach to a problem scenario to assess collaboration fit and ways of working.
The practicalities (~45m): Closing talks with Christel, agreeing on compensation, starting date, and all other practical details.
