If so, we have the perfect job opportunity for you. BioInnovation Institute (BII) is looking for a new colleague who will take responsibility for BII’s stakeholder-oriented community-building activities.


The role

In your new role as BII’s new senior specialist in the communications department, you will use your broad communications skill set and understanding of storytelling to create high-impact internal and external life science communications to inspire entrepreneurial researchers and build the BII brand nationally and internationally. You will have a key responsibility in BII’s event management activities and sponsorships agreements. Over time you will also get the opportunity to play a key role in driving the communications efforts centred around new strategic BII life-science innovation initiatives. BII is an independent commercial foundation with a not-for-profit objective. We have established a collaborative workspace in Copenhagen to bring together entrepreneurial researchers and company creators from different disciplines. BII workspace currently hosts more than 50 life science start-ups and company creation projects. Being founded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we still maintain close ties to both the Novo Nordisk Foundation and Novo Holdings. 


The Job  

In close collaboration with your colleagues in the communications team, you will work with a wide variety of communication channels and methods in your work with initiating, developing and supporting the strategic and operational aspects of BII’s communication and stakeholder relations and brand activities focussed on new strategic initiatives.


You will:

  • Drive internal community-building activities that strengthen BII’s entrepreneurial culture.

  • Develop and execute activities as an integral part of the BII communication team.

  • Raise awareness of BII’s mission and activities among internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support the BII team in building communications activities centred around new strategic initiatives.

  • Have hands-on responsibility for driving event management and sponsorship activities.

  • Develop and maintain the BII communications channels.

  • Work together with a wide array of specialized communications agencies.


Your profile

We are looking for a team member with strategic and operational experience within communications and stakeholder relations and with a strong focus on what it takes to build a strong brand rooted in the life science start-up community. We imagine that you hold a degree in journalism or have a Master’s degree in organizational communication or political communication, e.g., Cand.merc.(kom,), Cand.comm., or similar. You have demonstrated experience within communication and preferably including experience with public relations, public affairs, a communication department in the life science industry or from a communication- or PR agency. As an individual, you thrive in a job with the complexity of taking on responsibility by yourself and at the same time being a part of a team.


Your qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience with communication, storytelling, public relations and / public affairs.

  • Experience with internal communications and event management.

  • Proficiency in Danish and English at a professional level, both written and spoken.

  • Passion for developing the scientific and entrepreneurial environment in Denmark.

  • Empathic with interpersonal skills that enable you to build strong relations.

  • Open-minded, dynamic and collaborative mindset.

  • You are a strong and passionate team player and communicator.
