Who is Exur and what do we do?

Exur is a new Copenhagen-based startup in the InsurTech space founded in April 2021. We are working with various collaborators in the insurance industry, among them are risk carriers and housing unions.

Our name is Exur and our goal is to create a new distribution channel for B2B insurance as an alternative to the traditional insurance intermediaries. To obtain this goal, we have designed a platform, where we can break down a company’s insurance needs to its elementary parts and issue each part as a micro policy on our insurance exchange for insurance companies to bid on. 

In addition, our platform also functions as a claims handling and underwriting tool to ease the workload for our insurance providers as much as possible.

It’s quite the task to build the IT infrastructure of such a beast, which is why we are looking for an IT Architect superstar.

The current team of founders consist of an underwriter with 25+ years of experience in the insurance industry, a data scientist with 4 years of experience with financial assets as a quantitative analyst and 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, a data scientist on his last year of his masters, and a salesperson with 10 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Looking from an outsider's perspective, we’re a hard working bunch, but the truth is, that we love geeking around, so to us it’s like a never ending fun game, where we get to challenge ourselves on a daily basis.

Current tech stack: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Nextjs, Node.js, PostgreSQL, DigitalOcean, GitHub.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who enjoys designing and building IT solutions more than anything in the world. Because of the fact that we are a very early stage startup, the person we are looking for should be a bit of a full stack octopus.

We don’t care about fine degrees and diplomas, but if you don’t have any of those, you should be able to show some track record of earlier accomplishments.

We are not looking for a candidate who is seeking to become an IT peoples manager, since this position is already occupied. However, the two of you will be on the same executive level and working closely together.

What is the role of a Full-stack Developer?

Your job is to work all around our tech stack - from the frontend, through API-layer to backends, and databases.

Expected experience:

• 2+ years experience with React, Nodejs

• Some Typescript experience

• CI/CD

• Unit testing

• Docker

• ORM systems like TypeORM, TypegraphQ

Additional valuable experience:

• GraphQL

• Kubernetes
