Why is it so hard to find help, when there are so many young people who want an extra job❓
Was the question that started it all.
Today, Yepstr employs thousands of young people aged 15-24 y/o across Sweden for jobs like babysitting, tutoring and gardening. And most importantly, we're not a startup built on dreams and fairy floss. We have real and fast growing revenues and we're just about to reach profitability ✊
Now there’s a chance for you to join as our Product Designer! So, if it’s important to you to have a real impact and that you're excited about helping young people take the first steps into adulthood - then we would really like to hear from you!
We are searching for a Product Designer who can partner up with our UI/UX designer to bring us to profitability and then to international expansion 🌎
As our Product Designer we think you will want to take ownership for the end-to-end experience. After all - our service isn't just our app, it's also who shows up at your door to babysit your daughter. You can expect to be a part of the entire product design life cycle, all the way from getting involved in user research to running our discovery process to proposing initial concepts and seeing them through to implementation and results.
In your day to day work, we envision you staying ahead of the Product team by always having a finger on our users' pulse. You will want to understand why some of our users become "whales" and others churn. Over time you will likely become our "internal prophet 😇", best able to predict how our users are likely to respond to a given change.
Using this understanding of our users we think you will be able to take broad conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful for our users. Ideally we'd like to see you explore several ideas at an early stage and instead of diving into a rabbit-hole to early, we'd love to see you involve the team in the refinement and evaluation of the ideas. We believe that gives the best results!
Since you will build extremely valuable knowledge we expect you to become more and more involved in our company-wide strategic decisions 📈
You have a 3+ years of experience in a digital consumer company, preferably a mobile app
You have a business-oriented mindset. You prefer to build profitable products with healthy growth, not just "perfect the user experience".
You are more UX than UI - you prefer to understand our users and their problems. When it comes to design you are happy to stay at the wireframe stage.
You love spending time with people to understand their challenges. You are experienced in conducting unbiased user interviews and usability tests, understanding the results and shared that with your team to make smarter UX decisions.
You understand the importance of data and you know how to analyze and use data to support your recommendations.
You love involving the team in the discovery process and are experienced in conducting different kinds of workshops.
You love exploring different solutions to a problem and testing them early on users to find the best solution.
You have a good understanding of best practices and user psychology - this is not the first time you have heard about Hick’s Law, Confirmation bias, Social proof, Decoy effect, etc.
You are a true doer. You like to take charge and lead the UX work. You don't need someone to tell you exactly what to do.
Minimum of 3 years as a Product Designer / UX designer for a digital consumer company (preferably a mobile application like Yepstr!)
Analytical experience. Previous experience or studies in an analytical field for example user-research, business analyst, marketing.
Leadership experience - you have the ability to mentor others to deliver work
Having worked with data-driven design and development
Joining at this early stage means that you are offered a very attractive options programme – in another dimension compared to other startups.
Furthermore, we can guarantee that you will work with some of the smartest, most ambitious people in the startup sector in Sweden.
Yepstr is Sweden's largest platform for simple and safe teenage-jobs like babysitting, tutoring and dog-minding. Our vision is to help 100 million young people to their first jobs by 2030, and in doing that we will help lower youth unemployment and help bridge the gap to adulthood.
We are currently 15 full-time employees, but with all of our Young Entrepreneurs that work via Yepstr every day then we are in fact thousands. We view them all as our colleagues.
What sets us apart? Something we often hear is that at Yepstr we really believe in our team. So you won't find any micro-management here. Second, we also often hear that we're pretty unique in that we don't just talk about doing something good - we actually do. We built Yepstr to help young people take the step into adulthood and that's something we will never let go of.
