The Job 

Joining our dynamic Procurement team, as a Category Manager you will be supporting strategic procurement of our Protein category. You will be an integral part of a fast-growing scale-up, making sure that we can provide fresh, high quality ingredients and sustainable packaging for our customers across the Nordics.

We are looking for a candidate who will bring an analytical, structured and proactive way of working, focused on delivering results in a high-paced environment. Our ideal applicant has experience from a high performance culture environment in the food/retail industry and is hungry to take on a challenge and make an impact at a fun, fast-growing, mission-driven meal kit delivery service business. We are looking for someone with a commercial mindset with a good combination of soft and hard skills.

On a day to day basis you will be working closely with the Senior Category Manager for Protein and jointly be responsible for our strategic sourcing and managing our supplier network while engaging closely with suppliers, supply chain teams and our culinary department to build the best meal kit product in the market. You will have access to our international procurement team who can support you with deep category knowledge and best practice sharing.

You will…

• Build and implement the strategy of our Protein category in Sweden, Denmark and Norway together with the Senior Category Manager

• Manage tendering processes including vendor selection and supplier negotiations

• Manage our existing supplier network and develop new supplier relationships

• Identify and implement commercial opportunities through a data-driven approach

• Analyse data and provide insights related to most common customer complaints and supplier issues

• Design and implement quality improvement projects related to protein within our supply chain to improve customer satisfaction, reduce cost and food waste, working closely with our suppliers, our food safety & quality team and our warehouse teams

• Work collaboratively with our Global Procurement team on strategic initiatives

• Support our operational buyers in managing the weekly supply of our ingredients to ensure our customers receive fresh and high quality ingredients in time

• Solve problems on the go in a fast paced environment

You have…

• A Bachelor or Master’s degree from top-tier college or university, preferably in business or agricultural science

• 2+ years strategic sourcing purchasing experience including running tenders & managing supplier negotiations, sourcing new suppliers, building & managing supplier relationships. Perishable ingredients experience desirable but not essential.

• Innate behaviour or maximising personal ROI and ROI of procurement function, questioning priorities on a regular basis and choosing right balance between depth and speed in execution

• A track-record of successful negotiations with external partners, ideally with certifications

• Solid project management skills and stakeholder management skills with a proven track record of ‘getting things done’

• Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders and the ability to work successfully in flexible team structures around the world

• An entrepreneurial and problem solving mindset combined with the ability to take the initiative, work independently and drive implementation

• Sound quantitative and analytical skills including solid comfort with Excel & G Suite

• Excellent command of the English language is a must. Professional proficiency in one or more Nordic languages is a significant plus but not a requirement.
