Our team at SBT has invented a groundbreaking electrical-based detection technology for enumerating bacteria in a sample within a few minutes. We are looking for a student to assist in our lab with various quality control and ad hoc tasks.

The position

Testing and validation is essential to our work and we are building products that have never been built before. We are experiencing an increased interest in our products from customers all over the world. Therefore, we are looking for a dedicated and reliable student assistant, who will be assisting the laboratory team with various tasks so we can live up to our customers expectations.

We are still a small company where it is necessary for everyone to also perform tasks not directly related to their immediate job position. As an example, it is expected that you will also help with e.g. packing products for shipping. At SBT we truly believe that no tasks are too small for any person and that pulling together is the key to success.

Working hours are expected to be around 12-16 hours per week, spread over two or three days. 

As a student lab assistant at SBT your main tasks will be to:

• Perform QC of products and components that we put to the market

• Assist the laboratory technicians and/or application specialists with various tasks

• Make and maintain documentation of our QC procedures and processes

• Perform maintenance tasks in the lab such as restocking, waste handling, etc.

• Assist other departments with various ad hoc tasks

About you

Our ideal candidate has some experience with basic lab techniques and some previous work experience. We believe that personality plays a significant part in thriving at SBT, and we are looking for someone who is spirited, fun to be around, but also diligent and dependable in their way of working. You will always be able to get assistance from your coworkers but being able to work independently is essential. You must be fluent in English as all documentation and a lot of communication will be performed in English. Experience with MS Office is also preferable.
