At GamerPay we are building the future marketplace and community for gamers to discover, hold and trade their skins & in-game assets. We are seeing a tectonic shift where gaming is becoming the new social and where gamers now spend more on their digital outfits and wearables than offline. Still we see people getting scammed and gamers finding it hard to trade on legit sites. We launched GamerPay in May 2021 in Denmark, raised a seed round in August and have grown 20% MoM since then (yes, that’s close to exponential growth:))
We are backed by Y-Combinator (incubator behind Airbnb, Coinbase, Opensea, Instacart and many others) and raised our seed round in September 2021 with the help from investors like FCVC (Silicon Valley), Preseed Ventures (Denmark), Frederik Byskov (co-founder of Astralis) and Heini Zachariassen (co-founder Vivino).
We have gained the initial traction out of our Facebook community of 82.000 CS:GO players, so the community vibe resides deeply in us - and now we are ready for our first dedicated hire to lead the efforts. Our community manager is not a fancy support title, it’s the glue between our acquisition, product & engagement efforts. It’s that extra spark that makes you stick around our product and not 1.000 other apps in your life. Specifically, we are looking for someone to onboard and help new users, coordinate and set up the direction for how we engage current users and to give special attention to our power users.
We offer an opportunity to work around gaming everyday, a flat hierarchy and relaxed environment, where you get to influence everything from how we work to games we work with. On top we offer flexible work arrangements (although our energy spikes when we are jointly in the office), state of the art tech (Mac or what you need) to keep you productive and a fridge+cupboard filled with the “gasoline” to keep you going:)
You’ll be co-authoring the community strategy & plan (we are a early start-up so this is a plan with heavy attention to getting started)
You’ll be responsible for our community targets, channels and distribution mechanisms
Onboarding and attraction of new community members eg via email, invite to our Discord or other creative ways to get them going
Create and/or coordinate our community efforts directed at getting our existing users to retain or return
Create a community worth sticking around for by itself
You are an entrepreneur but you just don’t run your own show right now
You can lay out a plan and execute on it
You have flair for mastering and learning new tools
You are curious how things work, enjoy looking under the hood and are not afraid to challenge the existing solutions.
You are proactive, self-starter and love taking initiative. If you see a problem you’d rather start solving it than filing it as a ticket.
You have shown you can create results
You have built, maintained or supported a community before (support doesn't qualify)
You have an interest in both community acquisition, engagement and retention
Based in or ready to move to Copenhagen on short notice.
