Founders is a startup studio. Together with exceptional entrepreneurs, we build companies from scratch providing capital and expertise. Currently, we have 17 active portfolio companies across Denmark, Germany and Italy. A few of our early stage portfolio companies sit together with us at our office in the Meatpacking district. Some of our more mature portfolio companies you might have heard of are Pleo, Son of a Tailor and LifeX. 

We’re looking for an independent and driven controller to work closely with our CFO. You will perform all-round administrative and finance tasks, reporting and analysis for the team. You will also work with our external bookkeeper, and, whilst you won’t be working directly with our portfolio companies, the position comes with great opportunities to learn and execute a wide variety of tasks. 

Although many of the finance tasks are reoccurring, the scope of the role is not rigid, and you should be adaptable to changes in priorities. As this is a new position at Founders, the role and responsibilities will naturally take shape over time and you will have an opportunity to influence it. 

This is what you’ll be responsible for:

• Manage day to day finance operations such as accounting operations, cash flow, processing accounts payable and accounts receivables

• Quality assurance of the input and output of accounting and reporting

• Conduct monthly and annual consolidation and reporting, as well as participating in reporting material to partners, board and investors

• Continuous optimisation of finance and month-end processes 

• Assist with preparation of annual statements, audit, and budgeting

• Participate in developing and implementing internal processes

• Administrative and compliance tasks

• Regular ad hoc tasks and projects, supporting the CFO

  
  

Who are you?

Furthermore, we expect you to have the following qualifications:

• Practical experience of accounting, controlling, audit, finance or equivalent 

• Practical and solid accounting knowledge

• Responsible, problem solver and self-driven

• Humble with a high level of integrity and drive

• Fluent in English and good Danish skills 

• Confident Excel and Google Workspace user

• Experience with e-conomic accounting system

• A flair for presenting financial information in a visual and captivating manner
