EcoTree is looking for an intern who’ll become our Communication and Content Rock Star who will:

Create and publish content for organic (non-paid) social media channels to drive awareness and engagement.
Track our social media engagement across all channels.
Source, create and publish content for our blog and website pages in Danish and English.
Support our B2B clients with various communication deliverables such as website and social media content.
Translation tasks in Danish and English such as blog posts and website content.
Assist with PR activities such as outreach to press and media, as well as monitoring of key trends/news that relate to EcoTree’s business.
Assist our Head of Communication & PR with various ad-hoc tasks.

Who are we?

EcoTree is a vibrant and successful French greentech startup aiming to make the world a greener place by planting and developing sustainable forests right here in Europe.

Five years ago, a group of friends from France quit their jobs and created EcoTree. They were truly convinced that investing in Mother Nature should be something easy, accessible, and financially viable in order to best engage people in environmental- friendly action. Since then, EcoTree has been growing rapidly and now has more than 55,000 individual tree-owners and close to 2,000 business clients. We’ve received many awards & institutional recognitions, and we’ve recently been certified as a B-Corp organisation with distinction as ‘Best in the World’ in the Environment category!

On ecotree.green, in just a few clicks and starting at 15€, our private or corporate clients can develop their own portfolio of trees, thereby absorbing tons of CO2 in the next many years to come and helping preserve biodiversity, all while making a profit in the end! What’s not to like about that?

In late 2019, EcoTree embarked on an exciting international journey, with a primary focus on the Nordic region. This is where you come into the picture!

Who are you?

You are about to complete or have recently graduated from your studies in the field of communication, journalism, media management, or a related field, and you are passionate about making a difference for our planet. You will be part of a young-spirited, vibrant and growing team, and take part in that wholly new and exciting chapter for EcoTree: the international expansion. Here are some more specific details about the person we are looking for:

Recently graduated or about to graduate.
A strategic mindset within B2B and B2C communication with an ability to write and produce quality content for blogs, website pages and organic social media content/campaigns.
Top-notch social media skills with thorough comprehension and experience in managing social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook etc.).
Solid theoretical strategic mindset, strengthened with an extensive “hands-on” experience.
Has a clear, professional, and informative communication style.
Native in Danish and excellent written and oral level in English. Skills in Dutch and/or French are a plus.
Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work independently on an initiative from concept to strategy and execution, as well as follow-up.

What will your responsibilities be?

Help create, manage and execute on organic content across our social media platforms.
Social media analytics; reporting bi-monthly on how our organic posts are performing.
Source, write and publish content for our blog in Danish and English.
Support our B2B clients with content creation and communication tasks.
Translate content from English to Danish and vice versa.
Assist with PR activities such as outreach to press and media, as well as monitoring of key trends/news that relate to EcoTree’s business
Support our Head of Communication & PR with various ad hoc tasks,

Further information:

Start date: February 1st, 2022

Duration: 6 months. Firm full-time employment upon successful internship

Remuneration: Depending on experience

Workload: We’re looking for either a full-time intern or a part-time student.

Office: Boyesgade 4, 1066 Frederiksberg

Every single day 3.4 billion tons of CO2 is released into the atmosphere worldwide. In Europe, we are among the worst polluters in the world. With EcoTree, it is easy and accessible both for individuals and businesses to contribute to the reforestation and preservation of our common green heritage. EcoTree enables everybody to become a tree owner. EcoTree has a team of forest experts that take care of planting and maintaining the forests in which your trees are located. You, being the owner of the trees, are entitled to receive 100% of the revenue generated from the wood sale when your trees have reached maturity, cut, and the forest is renewed. EcoTree implements a “close to nature” forestry management plan in which the preservation of the biodiversity in the forest is kept at the heart of our activities, and for every tree that is cut, EcoTree plants three new ones. The idea behind EcoTree came up when a group of French childhood friends went to Copenhagen on a trip in 2014. There were many things that the group of friends adored about the Scandinavian lifestyle, but one thing that especially struck them was the well-functioning bottle deposit system. On each can, glass, or plastic bottle you purchase in Denmark you pay a small premium as a deposit that you get back when returning the empty bottles and cans to the supermarket. Consequently, the cities are clean and society more sustainable. This simple idea of rewarding sustainability led to the foundation of EcoTree. Approximately 600,000 newly planted trees later, the idea that was born in Scandinavia returns to its place of origin, as EcoTree has opened its new international office in Copenhagen in September 2019.
