Port 6 builds tools for making natural and intuitive human-computer interactions. We think that the motor channel is underutilized for interactions in virtual worlds. To allow for better interactions, we must build a better hand model, and here's where we want you to shine. At Port 6, you will be working in our interaction laboratory to transform biometric data into liberating and powerful interactions that feel nothing short of pure magic.

Data is the cow, and you'll get to be Gordon Ramsay.

At the core of the work will be the research of bleeding edge of analyzing and understanding biometric data, and the development of highly effective collection, training and testing pipelines for the purpose of utilizing the data in controlling user interfaces, playing games, making beautiful and using other apps. You will work closely with our interaction and hardware teams to design and implement the use of software in custom input hardware.

You will be challenged to solve problems that have never been solved before - but you'll always get to do it together with the team.

Responsibilities

• Transform biometric signals from our custom hardware into commands and digital representations of the human hand

• Design highly effective collection, training and testing pipelines for rapid iteration and effective research work

• Design and implement cutting edge data architectures

Process

1. Chat with Ohto, the CEO (30 min). A bidirectional conversation about us and you!

2. Technical chat with Jamin, our Product Lead (15 min). Get to know our challenges in better detail and have a conversation about the role of data in future human-computer interactions. This will be 15-30 minutes in length.

3. Port 6 Data Challenge (3 hours and 30min to demo it). We have a challenge for you and we want to see how you go about tackling it. Then you'll have a chance to present it to our data scientists and discuss the approach.

4. Discuss practicalities and meet the team (30min).
