At Donkey Republic we believe that sustainable mobility should be available to everyone. We do this by providing an affordable bike rental service across Europe in more than 70 cities. We work closely with cities and lawmakers to help transform cities into more liveable places.

What your job will be

Donkey Republic builds a wide range of software. You will join the product team which builds the software facing our riders (app and backend) as well as the fleet management and SaaS-platform mainly used by partners running a bike-share and corporates that offer their employees bikes for work.

You will join our existing skilled team of developers who are already in the product team and contribute to the direction of both the product and architecture.

Our software enables both Donkey Republic and a range of partners to run their bike fleets efficiently and we want to make sure that our platform stays competitive and world-class. You will take an equal part in solving all challenges big and small that we face.

Who you are

We expect you to have years of experience with building services using Ruby on Rails. You should be self-driven enough to drive the development forward, while also caring about the overall performance of the team. You are an experienced developer that wants to do more than just code, but also have an impact on the product design.

We cherish virtues like code reviews, consistency, and code conventions and have a big setup of tools to help lint and test our code in any way.

Here we would usually write a technical stack that we would want you to have experience with, but the truth is that we want you to be well structured in your code, take responsibility for what you do, and want to constantly improve your already great coding skills. And most of all, we want you to be motivated by working in a social team with the ambition to do the best they can.
