Nordetect is on a mission to improve the way chemicals are used in the food chain. We are an analytical technology company that produces Lab-on-a-chip devices for environmental and agricultural analysis. With our products, farm managers, agricultural service providers, and indoor growers can remove risk and use valid data that is easy to understand and implement to ensure richer harvests. The successful candidate will work across the department and will interact closely with colleagues from around the area to devise and execute appropriate experimental strategies and generate data. As our Lab Technician, You will focus on assay development, fabrication, and testing of sensors with proprietary devices, while gaining experience within microfluidics and biochemical analysis.

Your tasks include (but not limited to):

• Preparation of reagents and buffers

• Functionalizing microstructures and assembly of functionalized parts

• Responsible for device calibrations and application development experiments

• Prepare quality reports with findings, recommendations, and conclusions within analytical chemistry

• Taking part in tasks such as writing SOPs, general housekeeping of the laboratories, and inventory management

Your Profile:

• Lab technician or Masters's degree within chemistry, biotechnology, and biochemistry or related fields. Min. 1-3 years of experience preferred.

• A strong analytical instrumentation background, including method development, troubleshooting, and sample preparation

• Meticulous with attention to detail and drive for problem-solving

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and carry out multiple projects under demanding timelines

• Be able to work in a team as well as individually

• Experience in laboratory management

• Thrive in conducting routine lab tasks

• The motivation to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary start-up environment

• Excellent communication skills in English

Bonus: 

• Experience using instruments such as UV/VIS spectrophotometers, plate reader and FIA.

• Experience with QMS in the diagnostic industry

• Experience with paper-based sensing technologies
