We are expanding fast and are now looking for a talented accountant to join the team and to help keeping us on course as an important part of the finance organization.

You will be part of an experienced team of international finance professionals that both love to work in finance and strongly care for our mission of making cities more livable again.


Job Purpose

You will be the swiss army knife of the finance department, with your responsibility stretching from reporting and planning over intercompany consolidations to process optimization. 

Together with the accounting team you will ensure that our month end closing is in line with internal procedures and fulfills our quality expectations. You are then in charge of preparing  our monthly reporting packages incl. consolidation and delivering it to a range of different stakeholders. More importantly you also ensure that these reports are put to good use by the respective departments. Parts of the reporting also includes a monthly forecasting, which also falls under your responsibility, just like supporting the CFO in budgeting and long term planning activities. 

A large part of your job is to optimize and stabilize our processes, by either streamlining them, preparing better documentation, making use of automation or new systems or whatever idea you have.  You will also lay the groundwork for a new ERP system and be in charge of the implementation of it in the coming year. 

But it is not only the finance department you will be active in, in case other departments need a helping hand with the financial side of a business plan or tender application, you are there to support and guide them. 


Key Activities

Controlling

  • Ensure that internal processes are followed during the month end closing and improve their documentation

  • Coordinate closing activities of foreign subsidiaries (done by external accountants) and ensure that consolidated group figures are available in a timely manner

  • Review quality and correctness of revenue and cost postings

Reporting and Planning

  • Prepare complete reporting package for the company, this incl. high level KPI reporting but also detailed cost reporting for each of our city operations 

  • Analyse potential target deviation and share insights with the affected departments

  • Update monthly forecast and share it with the CEO and CFO

Optimizing

  • mprove and document the closing process, esp. in regards to the input from other departments and foreign subsidiaries and our consolidation tool

  • Integrate the single closing and reporting activities with each other so we have a more seamless process

  • Have a strong focus on process automation, also by implementing new software solutions 

  • Prepare an ERP implementation and potentially lead it


Job Requirements

  • Finance related degree (Master preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within controlling, FP&A or another relevant finance area

  • Sound understanding of revenue and cost controlling as well as of the monthly closing process

  • Very strong technical skills with Excel, capable of optimizing and automating complex reporting files

  • Good knowledge of ERP systems and making use of the reporting functions (we currently have e-conomics), experience in ERP system implementation is a plus

  • Proactive problem solving approach and open to collaborate with other departments 

  • Passion to improve and optimize processes and systems across departments

  • Good communicative skills in English and experience with international and dynamic work environment

  • Fast learner, innovative set of mind and flexible

You will report to the CFO. Other key partners will be the Head of Accounting, the operations and sales team and external accountants.
