Overview

I am an external senior software consultant. I rent myself out directly or subcontract myself though big consultancies. For the past years I have gained substantial experience in this field, yet I am frustrated about how inefficient this otherwise lucrative market is. There are many established consultancies, but they struggle to innovate and it often feels like they do not see the need to do so. Therefore I am looking for a partner to challenge this industry.


Our secret source

With a strong founding team I am confident that we will be able to position ourselves on the Danish market. However, all consultancies face one systemic problem: scalability. Selling time has natural limitations, thus it is interesting to look at other synergies that might create revenue. I have spent the last few years building a software platform that can be used to gain a competitive advantage and potentially be sold internationally when we have proven its worth. Combining a solid consultancy with this SaaS solution gives us an interesting opportunity in the long run.


The plan

I make 7 figures a year as an consultant (dkk). You earn probably something similar. We should be able to bootstrap this company through our current work. I see no problem in renting myself out part time to get the revenue flowing, while at the same time establishing us on the market - I realize that might be a bit harder for you, but maybe you can take over a part of the recruitment work or similar. When starting a company you need to be creative ;)

The short term goal will be on recruiting and get a team together. ABR (Always Be Recruiting) should be the core of our consultancy, as I believe it is much harder to find the right people than it is to find companies that need help. We could also subcontract some of our initial employees until we have enough work ourselves. At the same time we should start to position ourselves on the market. I have a few ideas, but I want you to take ownership of this part of the company.

From there it is really mostly about building a healthy company as described in your startup book of choice. This is of course easier said than done, but if we stick together and execute the mentioned plan we have done everything we can to set the consultancy up for success.


About me

Who am I

  • I have co-founded a profitable software consultancy before.

  • Since 2018 I have worked as an external senior developer for companies like Vestas, Grundfos and Lego.

  • I am active in the startup community since 2011, as an organizer, speaker and advisor.

  • I have a framed note next to my bed from Jesper Buch, stating "whatever it f*cking takes" ;)

What I will do

  • My main responsibility would be to make sure we deliver.

  • I set up a recruitment pipeline which will be essential for our growth.

  • I am responsible for our employees, our team(s) and their progress.

  • I will do hands on work, which will gradually transition into a managing position.

  • I will also work on our "secret source", but in the beginning I will focus on the points above.

  • Have a deep understanding of the Danish tech HR landscape.

  • You are Proactive, outgoing and have a broad network to build upon.

  • You are able to close deals, which form the basis of a fruitful partnership.

What you'll do

  • You will be the main driver in the development and execution of our business plan.

  • You will be responsible for marketing and sales initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in Tech-HR. Most likely you have been / are working for a consultancy as a recruiter / sourcer / HR manager etc.

  • Possibility to work from Aarhus or Copenhagen.

  • Fluent in Danish and English.
